Great location modern house

Beds very uncomfortable Cleaning lacking attention to detail

Whilst the property is located about 25 mins walk from the railway station, it’s close to York’s main attractions. The house is in a good state of repair with a modern kitchen and bathroom. It was clean (bar the odd cobweb) and the beds were comfortable. There was wifi and the tv had access to various platforms such as iPlayer and Netflix.

The property wasn’t in the nicest of areas, although I wouldn’t go as far as to say it was rough. Whilst it wasn’t too bad, the sealant in the bathroom could do with some attention soon. The bathroom could also have done with a mirror at head height and a hook on the back of the door.

Location was good - only a short walk in to the centre of York Beds were comfortable House was clean when we arrived Good facilities in the kitchen (washing machine, good sized fridge) Nice shower

Confusion re availability of parking. When we booked it clearly stated that there was parking and this was one of the main reasons for booking the property. The day before arrival (once the balance was paid in full and non refundable) I was told that there was no parking at the house and was directed to a car park "around the corner" where parking would cost between £18 and £24 per day! After a few emails it was confirmed that the car could be parked in the drive if it did not hang over on to the pavement at all. We have a large car and managed to fit it in (only just and on attempting to park it there for a second time a kindly neighbour offered the use of an on street parking permit which would probably benefit the property regarding the parking issue). I understand that the reference to parking has now been removed from the listing however I was not advised of the change before I paid the balance and parking is still mentioned in the welcome pack in the property. This needs to be clarified because parking is very difficult in York. When we arrived, my husband opened the patio door to look outside and was unable to lock it again. We phoned the agent and they sent a locksmith promptly. He confirmed that he was able to re-lock it however we did go out with the patio door unlocked which was a worry. Later it was acknowledged that the cleaner had experienced issues with the door. We didn't go out the patio door again because of concern over getting it locked. Although the house was very clean on arrival, it smelt very strongly of curry which was a little off putting. Small point but there were only 2 teaspoons in the drawer! Not adequate when the house sleeps 6. The second and third bedroom are barely big enough for a double bed and navigating round the beds was difficult.

The location was perfect. The property was very modern and big enough for what we needed. Super handy to have a parking space on the drive.

It would have been helpful to have a large mirror in the bathroom and also the main bedroom sheets had dried blood on.

Perfect location with a very short walk to the centre. The house was situated in a quiet area and had an outside area, which was an added bonus. It was very clean. The information booklet was full of helpful information.
