Piccadilly Place - 3 Bedroom House

Location, facilities, cleanliness, They have thought of everything that you need to have a great stay without worrying that you need to remember to bring items with you or have to do a shop the moment you arrive.

All minor things...and nothing stopped us having a great stay. Door to main bedroom needs shaving down as very stiff to close/open. On arrival there was no mirror in bathroom but a small one did appear by the time we came back from our walk around York. It does really need a wall mirror.

Near to the city centre and all the local attractions, very clean, warm and comfortable, clear check in instructions.

Nothing major at all. As others have said, a mirror and lock for the bathroom would be useful, and some information regarding recycling would be nice. The wooden ramp in the front garden/path needs some attention. It is broken, and it would be easy not to notice if arriving in the dark.

Clean and comfortable house with just a short walk into the centre of York. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of hot water for showers /baths.

More storage/ shelving in two of the bedrooms would improve things. Yellow room needs touch up on wall paint. Blue room was the best. Better seal trim on shower door needed as the floor got wet very easily.

Close location to the city centre. Beds were comfortable and the house was well stocked/furnished.

Two of the bedrooms were very small for double beds- no room for any storage space in one. Okay for single people but cramped for couples. No mirror or door lock in the bathroom (which has been mentioned multiple times in previous reviews).

We had a pleasant stay overall. The property was in a really good location, central for everything. Towels and linen are provided, along with tea & coffee and some other essentials which is very useful. The kitchen is well kitted out and plenty of space. Communication with the team was very good before our arrival and they answered my questions quickly and efficiently.

Parking - There was some confusion over parking prior to our arrival because when we booked the property, it was advertised with parking. However a few weeks before our stay I received a message to say there was no parking. I then clarified this with the team and they agreed that one small car would be allowed to park on the drive. When we arrived, we found the parking rather awkward because the curb is not lowered in front of the drive, so we had to use a neighbours driveway to complete the manoeuvre - not very easy on a one-way-street either. This was really important for us because my Dad is registered disabled and this is why we booked this property with parking. The property has a few other issues that could be resolved fairly easily - the front path has a wooden slope to access the front door and this is broken and rotten which made it challenging for my parents to get down the path to the front door. This could be really dangerous and is an accident waiting to happen. There is also no lock on the bathroom door which is frustrating when sharing a house with 5 other people. The bathroom needs a large wall fitted mirror too. Some of the flooring in the kitchen is lifting and also causing a trip hazard, again something else I had to warn my parents about. Cleanliness - the hard floors didn’t feel particularly clean and the table in the kitchen had not been cleaned, there was still rice and sauce on the placemats from previous guests.
