Lucy's Lodge- Most Stylish Apartment On Vibrant Bishy Road with Free Parking

Spacious, clean, well equipped, loved this place and situated well enough for a pleasant walk in to York. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back!

Excellent location on a vibrant street with shops, restaurants and bars and only a short walk to town. The apartment is beautifully furnished and stylish with spacious rooms and is well equipped. Dedicated parking in the city centre, without an additional charge, was a definite plus. We would not hesitate in recommending the apartment and would stay again when we visit York.

We stayed during the heatwave at the end of July and the rooms were too hot. Velux windows in the bedroom and bathroom, which we didn't try to open due to their height. Cool air fans would have been appreciated, especially in the bedroom. We kept the windows in the lounge open and the blinds partially closed, so this did help.

The flat is quite spacious and is elegantly furbished. Everything feels like new. The kitchen has all the necessary items. The fridge is a good size, however there's no freezer compartment. Although the flat is located on a fairly busy street, the bedroom is quiet (because there's only a Velux window). The flat feels very private and I liked it as it was upstairs, which I prefer as a single traveller.

The property has Velux windows in the bedroom, the hall and the bathroom. Unfortunately, all these windows are not electric and hence not easy to open/close. This is not such a big issue for the hall and the bathroom but it's certainly an issue with the bedroom window as it's extremely high up and it was very hard for me to open it. I noticed that there is quite a bit of damage on the surrounding walls which is most likely due to this difficulty as you need to use a long wooden stick to open/close it. The bedroom window has an electric blind which is great, but I would recommend that the owner would also install an electric window opener (I have one in my own apartment which makes it easy to open an close the window). There is also a bit of noise from the road (the living room faces the road) which is not an issue if you have the windows closed.

Location on a trendy street with restaurants, cafes, shops and bars. Parking just outside was very handy and not busy. The flat was stylish and modern with good sized rooms and thoughtful additions from the owner like shampoo, some welcome drinks and tea & coffee. I appreciated the communication after booking and prior to our stay. I felt well prepared with the information sent to me beforehand. Once we arrived there was a guest welcome pack in the living room with more information about the utilities, area and helpful numbers. It was really handy and reassuring.

It was warm weather and the flat is located above a restaurant so it was quite warm in the evening when we went to sleep. The bedroom only has a (huge) sky light which we didn’t attempt to open because it is so high and we needed the room dark for our toddler to sleep. To help cool the flat we opened the windows in the lounge and kitchen. Even opened the front door for a while to create a draft. Ultimately we slept well, it’s a comfortable bedroom with lots of lovely bedding and cushions.

The only slight issue was the fact the the apartment was a little too warm…probably because it sits above a cafe below

“What you see is what you get”, the pictures tell you exactly how the property is: neat and tidy! Excellent location, just few minutes walk and you would get to the city centre and tourist spots. Restaurants and grocery shops nearby allow you to choose from dining out or make your own feast.

Wifi signal in the living room is good, but not very smooth when you use it in other rooms.

Above a restaurant so some light noise and music. Only 1 cold drink and 1 small chocolate bar for 2 people. No window in bedroom except skylight so no fresh air.
