Gillygate Boutique Apartment- Stunning City Centre 1 Bedroom Apartment

The property was in a brilliant location and was great to have two bathrooms and internet access.

The property had extensive mould, there was black mould on the tiles of the bathroom that had not been cleaned off. The sofa was stained and so was the bedding for the sofa bed that we needed to use. The main bed was old and broken in places and drawers handles loose and falling off. The blind in the bedroom again was covered in mould. The kitchen only had 3 forks when it was booked for four people staying.

The apartment size was exceptional and well sized for what we wanted. The bed was really comfortable and the apartment was relatively quiet for the area.

The upstairs neighbours were noisy throughout the night (sounded like they were moving furniture) but other than that it was perfect. The key collection box was quite difficult to open.

Great location. Christmas tree on arrival was a nice touch. Main bedroom very comfortable.

Sofa bed was unusable as could feel the frame through the mattress. Sheet on sofa bed had not been changed as had child’s underwear and toys wrapped in it from a previous guest. Door handle to bathroom from the bedroom kept sticking so was locked in bathroom a couple of times. Suitable for max of two guests if sofa bed not replaced.

Location was right next to the entrance to the castle walls a stones throw from the York Minster and all the shops and eateries.

If been picky the Apartment could have been a little cleaner on arrival. Parking cost was high but you are in the centre of York.

The location was very good to be able to get into the city centre. Also parking at the rear of the property.

I felt as though whoever had cleaned the property prior to arrival hadn’t done a thorough job as there were still areas which hadn’t been cleaned. Receipts from previous guests still on the sides. Also the wifi was not working, had to reset. Spoke to a lady on the phone regarding the property and she said she hasn’t dealt with this property before so was unable to really help. It did come to my attention that the wifi password sent on the email is different to the one in the handbook at the property.
