La Sapienza di Pisa

Location is perfect, in the middle of everything. Nothing is more than a 15 minute walk, most things in Pisa are 5-10 minute walk from the apartment. You can get the pisa mover train to the central train station, this costs 5 euros per person. You still then need to walk 10-15 minutes to the apartment (on mostly well paved surfaces so suitcases rolled nicely). We just ended up getting a taxi which only cost 15 euros and took us right to the front door. I recommend getting a taxi. Cosy apartment. Good kitchen for cooking which we needed as we have a 3 year old so did a few evening dinners in after her bedtime. Good bathroom/toilet and a nice warm shower. Comfortable but slightly noisy beds. We visited in December and the underfloor heating kept us warm during the colder evenings. Kitchen has a few bits a pieces in already. We arrived quite late and my wife put our little one down for bed whilst I popped out to the nearest supermarket to get some food for dinner and breakfast. Check what is in the cupboards already from the last guest as there was already coffee, oil and pasta. If you do need to buy food from a supermarket I recommend walking about 7 minutes to the Conad City super market just off of the main shopping street on the south side of the river rather than the tiny (and very expensive) Pam Local on Borgo Stretto, which is only 3 minutes away. It's worth the extra few minutes walk. Good WiFi. Host was very caring and informative, gave us lots of info before we arrived. I ran the Pisa marathon and this apartment was perfect location to stay on race day as the start/finish is 5 minute jog away and the route goes past the apartment at the start and also at the end of the race. There are quite alot of stairs (53) up to the apartment which become tricky with very sore legs after the marathon lol. If you're elderly or have mobility issues you may want to stay elsewhere.

A bit noisy due to very central location although we are used to sleeping in complete silence. A few bars/restaurants nearby so you do get some noisy revellers through to about midnight. The main noise issue came from the bin/recycling/street cleaning lorries. There is a bank of communal bins just 25 meters down the road and they are emptied very early, sometimes as early as 5.45 AM. The bars nearby also use these bins to empty their bottles in. This happened quite regularly throughout the evenings through to about midnight some nights. If you're used to sleeping with a bit of noise then you probably won't have any issues but as we're used to sleeping in a very quiet environment our sleep was impacted, especially the first night. The apartment is on the small side and there is not a lounge / living area with a sofa, just a kitchen table and 4 chairs. There isn't really room for a sofa but the apartment would really benefit from having some more relaxed seating. We had a hard time figuring out the light switches. Every light switch seems to unlock the front door but not every light switch turns on/off the light you expect it to lol.

We loved the location and the place itself. It was very easy to find and a lot of additional information about Pisa was provided.

The information about the extra fee for towels and bedding should be made more obvious whilst booking.

The location is perfect!!!! So convenient, walking distance to the Leaning tower and train station. The host is very responsive and kind. He provided lots of information about nearby attraction sites, which I really appreciate 👍

Beautiful apartment. Great host who gave us plenty of suggestions for activities and places to go. Easy to communicate with. The apartment was located right beside Arno in the center of Pisa, walking distance to everything. Surprisingly quiet for the location. Just around the corner(s) there were restaurants, bars and everything you need. Located just a 10 minute walk from the train station. Bedrooms were airconditioned and equipped with fans. If we go to Pisa again we will definitely check if this apartment is available.

Difficult to switch off the light,conditioning is not enough,misunderstanding with cash money for laundry facilities(you can't pay for it by card)

It had everything you could need, kettle microwave, coffee, coffee maker etc. Plenty of towels etc. It was perfectly clean with good air-conditioning and a fan. It was perfectly positioned ; near to tourist sites ad not far from pisa centrale station. It was easy to find, and very near the river. Good communication and instructions from the owner with lots of advice about where to visit. I would thoroughly recommend.
