Villa Magnolia - Lake Como

Lenno is an excellent place to base yourself on the lake as it is halfway up and is a stop for the high speed ferry, but not heaving with tourists due to being smaller (unlike Bellagio or Varenna). The villa is a 7 minute walk from the Lenno ferry which is perfect. The villa also has covered parking if you wanted to drive. There is a cafe on the opposite side of the street, and restaurants 2 minutes walk away and a grocery shop 5 minutes away (we loved getting a takeaway pizza and eating it on the shore of the lake). The villa really is a perfect location! Yes, it does have a position on a road with traffic, but this was not a problem for us, there is less traffic at night, and the bedrooms are all at the back of the building away from the road side. We stayed 4 nights and wish we stayed longer! It is a villa made up of 3 apartments and we were on the top floor, meaning that our balcony had a view of the lake <3 We loved the pool and outdoor space, and it is only shared with the other apartments (max 2 other couples). The hospitality was excellent. The villa is not brand new, but it is authentic Italian. Make sure you bring cash to pay the air conditioning charge, and the tourist tax (otherwise there is an ATM right next door at the bank, but will charge international fees). Also if you like hiking/walking, the greenway di Como Lago passes right behind the house and is a beautiful walk through the hills/along lakeside!

The hostess was very communicative! She reached out well in advance to our stay and sent lots of information about the area and what to do. We made use of the airport shuttle service - very convenient! The property itself is lovely too, we enjoyed the pool and garden! Beautiful view of the mountains and it takes about 3 minutes walking to get to the lake. 10 minutes walking to the public beach for a swim. The apparent was sparkling clean and the towels + linen of great quality.

The location was perfect! We had the middle floor and loved the balcony! The entire apartment was so comfortable. We were able to walk to the grocery store and have meals at the apartment. We loved the pool and the outdoor area! So peaceful and perfect for relaxing on a hot day. We were thankful to be able to park our car and leave it for 3 days. Bus stops and water taxis were a short walk away. You can purchase olive oil from a company across the alleyway. My friend had suggested the place and it was so close! Thanks again for a wonderful stay. We really enjoyed our visit!

A beautiful, well equipped, comfortable property divided into three apartments. The grounds were lovely with a swimming pool, table tennis table and bicycles available for guests to use. Off-road covered parking was wry welcome. The location was very convenient with a supermarket, launderette and other shops nearby and a good choice of restaurants a short walk away by the lake. Good access to the Lake Como ferry services.

Excellent apartment for a restful few days by Lake Como. The apartment was clean and comfortable with a lovely terrace, gardens and pool. The host met us on arrival and sent us messages throughout the stay about local activities, as well as answering any questions we had. The location is a short walk (3 minutes) to the lake shore and the bars / restaurants of Lenno, which is a little quieter than some of the other towns by the lake which could all be reached by the regular ferry service. There were a number of shops and supermarkets within walking distance also. All in all a superb place for a restful holiday!

Despite exchanging texts about out time of arrival no one meeted us to allow access to the property. Lucky for us another tenant came along from shopping and let me into the gate and advised the gate code after we waited about a 10 to 15 minutes The unit we rented was open, fortunately. The apartment was roomy, well lit and ventilated by doors and windows and had all the pots, pans, utensils, and plate-ware we needed. The shower tub leaked water but the owners were prompt in addressing the problem and fixed it as soon as was possible. The remainder of our stay was comfortable, and the swimming pool was a delight. Location was ideal with our family a 5 minute walk away, a wonderful bakery across the street, and Dino's market within 200 meters. Over all I give our stay an 8+ to 9 rating.
