Casa Mi Tu

The location couldn’t be better! The apartment is located in a building right in the heart of the old town surrounded by many shops and restaurants. The owner met us to hand over the keys and as she is a certified tour guide, she gave us a brief insight into the city and its history and the surrounding areas of the apartment. The flat is fully furnished and is very clean and comfortable.

The apartment is on the third floor without a lift, but I understand it’s not easy to install a lift in a building from the 16th century.

There was no air-conditioning in the bedrooms.

Communication with the owner was above and beyond. Great central location and easy to get to using public transport. Our host gave lots of information for sight seeing and recommended places to eat. Made our short staff all the better.

Fabulous location and personal service offered to make you feel welcome and to help settle in. It is a sparkling clean apartment with everything you need for your stay provided, with some extras such as coffee and sugar. The photos and tips about where to go and what to see were appreciated. The beds were comfy and the rooms were quiet. I would return to this lucky find!

Be aware before booking that there are 72 stairs. It was worth the climb, but be aware.

Great location, close to the port and sites in town. Hosts are exceptionally accommodating and go the extra mile so you have an excellent stay. Irene also works in the tourism industry and is highly knowledgeable about the area. Hosts would rate 11/10 if possible. Yes, I would recommend staying here if you want to see the museums and other sites in town.

The area was a bit noisy, being close to the port. (There should not be a sad face for this. You need to have realistic expectations for staying in the city.)

Beautiful flat! Enormous living area, well stocked with everything we could need. As it is located in the old town, the building is a traditional building, very carefully looked after and so clean. The location was absolutely incredible - right in the heart of everything. It never took us more than 10 mins to walk anywhere. The hosts were both so lovely and so helpful, and they both clearly love their city a lot.

Stairs are the only option up; not an issue for us at all of course but unfortunately not accessible.

The apartment is conveniently located for Genova port and the cathedral and main sights are all within walking distance. It was clean, comfy and spacious with everything we needed for our stay. Irene, the host, was very welcoming, helpful and gave us all the information we needed to find out way around the wonderful city of Genova.

Unfortunately, as some other previous guests have noted, we experienced problems with exterior noise during the night because of the youths who hang around in the alley outside dealing drugs, and this meant that getting any sleep was a challenge. We had to report this to Irene on the second night and she called the Police, but the gang was back as soon as the Police had driven down the street. I hope this problem can be resolved for Irene and Giannini, it is a shame that this has been happening and I am sorry but feel it is only fair to other potential guests for me to comment on this, given the circumstances. A kettle and toaster would be a welcome addition to the kitchen area.
