Anna Penthouse

Very large accommodation, clean and everything you need

The location was the only thing I liked. It was walkable to almost everything in Ghent.

If you have any mobility issues, I would not choose Anna's penthouse. It wasn't an issue for us but something to consider. The door must be locked from both inside and outside the apartment. If you don't lock it, it swings open- no way of leaving it unlocked and just closed. Not convenient if you have others staying with you that may come and go at different times. The key is VERY frustrating to get out once locked. There were no tissues in the whole apartment so we had to use the toilet paper. The tiles in the main part of the house were loose and when you stepped on them, they would rattle. The couch was dirty, but comfortable. I reached out a couple of times asking for a blanket for the bed (only was a top sheet/duvet cover) as it was cold one night and didn't get a response. I used the top sheet from another bed as we didn't use it. We also left with bug bites and suspected bed bugs from here as well. We stayed for four days and it would have been great if we could unpack some of our clothes but there was nowhere to put our clothes. No dresser in any of the bedrooms. There were only store-type hanging racks to hang up your clothes. This was the worst place we stayed at during our 18 days in Europe. It is saying 4/5 for by my answers given but I would rate this at 2/5.

Close proximity to the city centre. The house was very clean and well equipped.

The stairwell had a very bad odour which seeped in the apartment.

The location was great and the apartment was very spacious. There was a man outside terrace.

The shower drain was blocked so we couldn’t have showers. I messaged the host at 5.08pm (so admittedly out of business hours) but she didn’t get back to me before we left in the morning.
