Palazzo Pio Apartment

This is an exceptionally beautiful apartment with gorgeous period features, furniture and exquisite mosaic floors throughout, it is well maintained, clean and the hosts were very courteous and helpful. The apartment is very spacious and you do get the feeling of staying somewhere palatial, historic, authentic and safe. Piazza St Oronzo is only 5 minutes away on foot, as is one of the original city gates, the Porta San Biaggio. Loads of restaurants and cafes etc nearby. It's around a 15 minute walk to the train station. The beds were super comfortable and there is plenty of storage space for your belongings. We would highly recommend a stay in Palazzo Pio and would stay here again.

There is some noise from the street at night and early morning which could disturb you if you are a light sleeper like me but I never travel without earplugs so it was not too bad. Also the shower facilities were not great. There is plenty hot water but the water pressure in the en-suite was pretty bad and badly positioned with a curtain that sticks to your body. The shower in the other bathroom was better but it was a bit annoying to share one shower between 4 adults.

stunning palazzo, good location

not property’s fault but across the palazzo there is a bar that played very, very loud music. it kept us awake. still we had a really nice stay in this beautiful palazzo.

Palazzo Pio was an incredible piece of history. We loved the fact that it has been in the same family for generations. Our host was one of the great grandsons. It has been beautifully maintained and has all the comforts needed. There is a huge amount of space inside and it was perfect for 2 couples. The location is very handy for walking the historical centre of Lecce. Fruit and vegetable shop opposite and little grocery stores along the street.

No breakfast was provided. The apartment was beyond our expectations. The location was great and we were able to walk everywhere in the city from the apartment.

It couldn’t have been better.

The property was a lot bigger than we were expecting, it was a fantastic property to stay at. The location was close to the old part of Lecce and the central location was perfect for what we needed. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and help us with anything we asked for, including giving us details for a tyre repair shop for friends of ours. Highly recommend, and would definitely stay there again if we returned to Lecce.

Space and character

This property was truly exceptional. The apartment was beautifully decorated from the antique furniture to the beautiful mosaic floors. It is a gem right outside the walls of the historic center and even has a garden. Giuseppe was extremely helpful!
