Rory Apartments

Rory apartments was in a fantastic central location overlooking People’s Square in the Old Town. There are a plethora of bars, restaurants, ice cream shops, supermarkets all within few minutes from the front door. All of the main attractions can be reached easily on foot. The apartment was immaculately clean, and everything you could need was available. The hosts communication was excellent from start to finish. A gem in the old town and comes highly recommended.

Squeaky floors

Very central location, with a view over the main square, but street noise kept out effectively by double-glazed windows. Spacious, clean, modern, beautiful apartment.

The instructions on location were not detailed enough. We are staying at so many places and this was the most difficult to find, even with google maps and host’s instructions. Local people helped, some had no idea of where it was though. It’s up 3 flights of stairs, no lift. No lock on the toilet door and a noisy creaky floor throughout. The single air conditioning unit for the whole apartment takes several hours to take effect and was switched off for our arrival. We were given a recommendation for a car park whereas it is perhaps more useful as a tourist to know that parking is totally diabolical in Zadar. It seems to be all free, and a free-for-all, with no provision for local residents, 2-way traffic in single lanes, gridlocked stationary cars waiting and people fighting over a space. They park anywhere, even on mounds of rubble and pavements. Apparently it’s worse when there’s a concert on. Also it isn’t particularly welcoming to expect guests to take out their trash, out of the building and across 2 courtyards, when people arrived to clean anyway.

Perfect location in historical city center, so easy to get to most places. Had a great view from the main room looking over the square and church and the windows seemed to be sound proof.
