FLH Baixa Modern Apartment

Location. Towels are clean. Bed mattress is on the firm side which i prefer. Staff is responsive.

Check in is strictly at 3pm. Our bus arrived earlier than plan which would make our arrival at the apartment probably 2:30pm-2:45pm, i messaged the staff and got response that check in is at 3pm. Entrance - picture provided of the shop in front of the building does not match with reality. The staff says there is key box at the building door which is not entirely correct, but on the wall next to building door and there are two key boxes, they did not identify which one. Have to do trial and error. There is only one key provided. No lift. The stair case area was very dirty. There is some fixing or smashing i am not sure going on on the wall. The area got cleaned up couple days later. In the smaller bedroom, it smells like urine is in the air all the time, i guess this is the building issue. The bigger bedroom is super cold without heater (with temperature around 14 degree outside). There is washing machine but no laundry detergent provided. Also, the machine is too dirty. We do not dare to wash our clothes. There is no proper cloth rack anyway, just a mini two bar rack that is also used in the bathroom. What the point of having a washing machine without providing anything to work with it. There is only one dish washing pod provide (we booked for 5 nights) and a tiny bottle for washing liquid. There is no handwash provided at the kitchen area but only one small soap in the bathroom. Many cups, bowls… are broken. There is no kitchen tissue, only one bread knife. Pan is full of scratch. No salt, pepper, tea, coffee. For 3 persons staying 5 nights, only ONE garbage bag provided in the bin (so two in total, another one is a mini inside toilet). This is not a mistake, the place does not provide extra (i have asked since never ever i have stayed in a place that provide only one garbage bag regardless how many nights spent). Guest must throw garbage bag. The toilet is separated from bathroom, tiny. The toilet was not properly clean, there were yellow-ish marks.

Location was amazing, beds & pillows were comfortable. Decor was nice.

The entrance and building was quite a negative surprise, but the until and location make up for it. The master bedroom sheets felt like sandpaper. The toilet room had a horrible odour the entire time. The kitchen was missing a small pot and needed more cooking utensils ie spatula, large spoons and cheese grater.

The size of the apartment is great; two large, airy bedrooms. The location is fabulous, there is so much to do and see right outside.

The apartment we stayed in was set up cheaply; the furniture, power-points and amenities were sparse. There was no light in the shower and no lift to get the suitcases up to the apartment. Those are the minor, manageable details. Worse though, there was a major construction site in the adjoining building (adjoining wall!) which we weren’t advised of and which FLH denied knowledge of. The noise was incredibly loud; too loud to stay in the unit during the day. Even worse than that, though, was the horrific gas-like smell coming from the toilet/water closet; it was eye-wateringly acrid and unbearable. I have since gone back through reviews from previous years and can see that this issue is ongoing and not new. We had to leave after one day but we were given a refund for the unused days. In summary, if the plumbing was fixed and the next-door building renovations were done, and you were looking for spacious, basic accommodation, then I would recommend it. Otherwise, absolutely not.

The location was perfect very central and it felt safe. I like the space in the apartment and the kitchen was well equipped.

While the bathroom was clean the shower area is very dark and there are no toiletries provided. In the livingroom there was a sofa but the single armchair was broken.

Excellent location so close to the centre! Big apartment.

The dishes in the cupboard were dirty and needed cleaned before use. It was a bit noisy but this was to be expected being so close to the centre.

Good location. Easy to check in.

Wish we checked that it was equipped with a/c before we booked. It didn’t have a/c and it was really hot.
