It was well located and easy to get to. We walked down to Alfama. The area of the apartment had multiple restaurants and there were a couple of mini-markets across the road. The apartment had everything we could have wanted. The place was large and comfortably sized. Our large teenage boys had a room each. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. We loved the fact that it had all the basic elements for cooking (salt, sugar etc.)

Very spacious and clean. Alex was a fantastic host. Answered any questions we had and we felt he was on hand should we ever have needed him.

Getting hot water took forever which was challenging

The apartment was fine, and everything was provided. There are one full bathroom and one half next to kitchen.. The location is good, you can walk to the city center in 15-18 min. OWNER is nice and helpful.

You were lucky if you got hot water from the first try. Normally, you have to turn off and on few times until water is hot and one can take a shower. The elevator is small and can take up to 120-125 kg at once. The other problem is if you want to use the stairs (4th floor) , there is no light in the building between the floors. Be careful.

Very nice owner, always willing to help if needed and good communication. The apartment is big. Very comfortable beds and pillows.

The apartment in pictures looked better than in reality, in reality a bit old/used. Sometimes we had no hot water in the shower, but we were told how to get. In the night hours can hear the traffic.

Shower hit and miss water sometimes v hot sometimes freezing. There is a lift but only fits 1 person at a time. Need waste paper bins in each bedroom.

Alex was the perfect host. He met us with the keys and showed us around the apartment. The apartment is huge and very comfortable. We travelled with our grown children and each of the three bedrooms were spacious with big comfortable beds. As it was January we were worried it would be cold as the apartment has high ceilings but the air conditioning doubled up as heating so we were very cosy. Note that there is a second toilet off the kitchen which was great as the listing only shows one in the main bathroom. The apartment is kitted out with everything you need. I was concerned re the hot water for showers as previous reviews said the hot water ran out or didn’t work. You just need to put the shower on and leave it running for a few minutes and it does get hot. Also the boiler is a combination one so the hot water doesn’t run out. The washing machine was great and Alex has left a clothes airer to hang up damp washing. There is also a dishwasher but we hand washed our dishes as we were out a lot of the time. There are many restaurants close to the apartment. I can thoroughly recommend the Thai restaurant below the apartment, the food was amazing and the Saigon place across the road who did great pokey bowls. Walking to Bairro Alto takes around 15 mins, to Alfama around 20 mins. We love Lisbon and this was our third visit. We will be back and wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Alex’s apartment again.

Nothing….just bear in mind that Lisbon is very hilly so walking back to the apartment is a good workout. The lift only takes 1 person plus a suitcase or 2 people without luggage. The apartment is on the 4th floor.

Alex was the best, very helpful and accommodating. The apartment is very spacious and has everything you need.

The subtle smell and having to wait a long time for the hot water if you shower after others

The apartment is clean and very spacious. The beds are comfy with clean linen. The apartment is a 15-20 minute walk to the centre but Ubers are very reasonable and available at approx 5 euros. The owner communicated well.

Be careful of the lock on the front door. We inadvertently locked the bottom part so the owner had to come and let us in.
