Charming Apartment in Alfama

The apartment was very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. Location is in easy walking distance to lots of restaurants. The staff kept in contact and checked in that everything was ok.

It can be a bit noisy at night in the bedroom by the street. There is an aircon unit from a restaurant that goes until around 1am in the morning. It would have been good to have a mirror in this bedroom.

This apartment was ideal for our stay for four. It’s in a great location with easy drop off and pick up for taxis just at the bottom of the road. It’s walkable distance into the hills and streets of Alfama and other public transport routes, including the historic no. 28 tram (a 5 mins walk to Sé). There are plenty of local restaurants and squares to relax in and listen to the Fado musicians - which you can also hear from the apartment if you open the windows. It’s a quieter area than Barrio Alto but walkable distance to the nightlife if you don’t mind the hills. The apartment itself was indeed charming with a huge double bedroom and a smaller twin bedroom. It had a well stocked kitchen and beautiful wooden floors. We visited in October so it wasn’t too hot but each bedroom had a fan as well as large windows. The hosts were great and sent us all the information we needed. Our flight arrived quite late but this didn’t impact on us being able to access the property. The hosts provided very clear and helpful instructions. We’d definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the apartment which was very comfortable and in a great location for exploring the Alfama area, and historic area in general, with plenty of nice restaurants close by. Apartment is very well equipped; slippers after busy day walking and climbing hills were a lovely & welcome touch. Plenty of good towels too. Supply of shower gel, washing up liquid & plenty of loo roll etc were also a nice touch!!
