Oxfordshire Living - The Alice Apartment - Oxford

The staff is undoubtely very helpful, Vanessa, sent all the information ahead of time and that makes the check-in process smooth & easy. I really appreciate all the facilities included in this apartment, and it just made my stay at Oxford very special. I would definitely stay at this place again next time.

The noise at night can be disturbing because the apartment is located just above some restaurants.

Excellent location within the castle, next to shopping centre and bus stops. Very clean and spacious unit, had everything we needed. Hosts were communicative and gave clear check in & out instructions.

It does get noisy from the pub downstairs, which we were aware of when booking - but was not too much of an issue with the windows shut. Shopping centre area can get a little rowdy at night, however this could have been the time we stayed during school holidays.

Nachts wird man bis weit über Mitternacht von Partylärm des benachbarten Pubs gestört. Von 10 Nächten waren nur 2 einigermassen akzeptabel lärmmässig. Auch bei geschlossenen Fenstern sind Ohrstöpsel unabdingbar.

The property was spacious, clean, comfy (great bed and pillows), bright, beautifully decorated, well-equipped, and accessible (barrier-free entry, elevator), at a great location.

I loved almost everything - super convenient, a bit pricey for my budget, but Oxford isn’t cheap, so the cost was acceptable. Some noise from the restaurant downstairs, which I didn’t really mind.

The host was really helpful giving an early check in and extended checkout.

Overall everything was great, there were just a few minor details over the cleanliness of some of the kitchen items. Also I like to sleep with the window open, but couldn't due to the noise of the pub below. However, these minor issues would not put me off staying again.

Very easy check in with helpful instructions and photos sent ahead of arrival. The flat is very nice and bright, modern and has everything you need. It was very clean. The location couldn't be more perfect to be in the centre of Oxford and being near the castle is lovely. The host was very kind and informed us during our stay they'd had a change of cleaning schedule so we could have a late checkout. We really appreciated that and it made our stay feel even nicer.

Being so central does come with the trade off of noise being in a city centre. The flat is directly above a Wetherspoons pub which is noisy until late and general road/people noise. Early on Saturday morning they were jet washing the paving areas for nearly 2 hours which was really loud and couldn't sleep through it, but Sunday morning was fine and quiet so I think we were just unlucky that morning. I think noise is to be expected when you're staying so central and I think we were just unlucky that one morning specifically, so we would stay again and would recommend.

Very spacious, well lighted, clean and modern. Everything works well. Very secure. Loved the location - next to Westgate, very convenient for groceries, shopping and transport. Not too far from the railway station.

A bit noisy at night due to the restaurant below, but it didn’t bother us - we slept well.

The location was perfectly situated in the shadow of the Castle and across from the Mall. Convenient to all public transit. Well appointed with comforts of home. The mgmt team were super accommodating and helpful, including allowing for our luggage to be stored after checkout time.

There is a very lively pub downstairs and the noise does carry. However, on the one night when it was loud, we used ear plugs and turned on the fan (provided) and it was fine.

The apartment was visually appealing, not cluttered and well equipped. It was modern, bright, spacious and clean. The apartment building was also well cared for and attractive, with wide corridors.

The one big drawback was the location of the corner apartment on the first floor directly above a lively pub, the Swan and Castle, with outside tables. The pub was open until midnight and 1am (Thursday - Saturday). Even with double glazed windows and ear-plugs the noise from youthful customers outside the pub was disturbing. We actually appreciated the rain because it meant less people outside. We would have appreciated information about the exact location of the apartment, in the ad, the same way hosts lists stairs for those with mobility issues.
