Apartments Zavala

Located next to the UNESCO cave with spectacular views over the valley, this beautifully restored hotel had the most welcoming host. We were well looked after and enjoyed delicious food. Rooms were well appointed and very clean. Bike friendly hotel.

Les hôtes sont toujours sur place pour vous accueillir, donc pas de souci à se faire pour récupérer les clés. Teo est ce genre de personnage qui déboussole. L’amitié instantanée qu’il nous accorde est marquante. Si tu arrives avec le sourire, il t’offre à boire tout bonnement et les discussions fusent avec les autres invités, souvent des cyclistes de passage sur la Ciro Trail en face. Puis voilà que ça fait 2 heures que tu passes un super moment au bord du Popovo Polje, un décor unique en Herzégovine. Les petits-déjeuners et les repas d'Anna sont spectaculaires. Je suis repartie de cet endroit le coeur gros; je serais restée encore quelques jours. La chambre est moderne, grande et Anna a pensé à tous les petits détails.

Rien à redire, c'était parfait, sauf peut-être l'écoulement lent dans la douche. Une tablette serait pratique pour mettre les trousses de toilette, mais sinon, franchement, il faut chercher pour se plaindre tellement les hôtes sont merveilleux.

Zavala Apartments is an absolute gem in Herzegovina — breathtaking setting on the historic CIRO train route, warm hospitality, and unforgettable food. Teo and Anna made every moment special for our group of six cyclists with their kindness and attention to detail. A truly exceptional stay that we can’t wait to repeat.

There was absolutely nothing not to like!

Zatrzymaliśmy się tutaj na nocleg podczas wycieczki rowerowej i jesteśmy absolutnie zachwyceni! Właściciele, Teo oraz Ana, to niezwykle mili, sympatyczni i pomocni ludzie. Ana ugotowała dla nas wspaniały obiad i przygotowała przepyszne śniadanie. Z kolei Teo poczęstował nas niesamowitym trunkiem z miejscowych ziół i uraczył wyjątkowymi opowieściami, które zostaną z nami na bardzo długo. To była jedna z tych wizyt, których nigdy się nie zapomina. Gorąco polecamy! :)

Unforgettable stay! The owners are a truly lovely couple—warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. The rooms are magnificent, beautifully designed, and extremely comfortable. Meals are outstanding. Both dinner and breakfast were among the best I’ve ever had—delicious, fresh, and prepared with real care. Highly recommended!

Sometimes you hit the jackpot and zavala was that for me! Teo, the owner, felt like a long lost friend from the minute we arrived. He’s the kind of person you want around the table spinning stories that you don’t want to end. He runs the hotel from his heart not based on the financial transaction but instead based on entertainment and experiences. He made our stay and I can’t thank him enough. Beyond him the room was super clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I could stare out at the view for days. We also had dinner there, there is nothing else around, and it was generous portions and lovingly prepared. I would encourage everyone to visit.
