The Coach House, Clifton and Parking - Hopewell

Great location very central to Clifton and it had parking

It would benefit from some new pillows

Freshly done up and clean. Close to a food shop open till 10pm. Car parking is off street, which is narrow and car-lined on both sides. Quiet at night.

Access and parking inadequate: a) had to phone to find how to use the key thingy to open gate. b) Gate is labelled with house number to which the coach house belongs, which is on another street; confusing. c) Parking space is tiny; how ever you try to come in, you must manoeuvre in a tight space and end up jammed against two stone walls and partially blocking the entrance; host said 'no one else has complained' when I rang up (Grrr); photo on website misleads as to space inside yard. Levels inside are dangerous: d) Floor has four different levels just inside the door, including a too-high step between kitchen and dining area (Trip hazards!). e) Stair to mezzanine-bedroom is steep; no good for night-toileters; so partner slept on couch downstairs. f) Mezzanine is too small for bed, so bags were left downstairs. Renovator would have done better to forget the mezzanine and stairs and put the bed in the saved space downstairs. So: don't book if you're driving anything bigger than a Mini or aren't nimble on your feet.

This place is really well located if you are visiting for a university event such as a reunion which we attended. Clifton Village and its numerous bars and restaurants is just a short walk away.

The double bed is on a mezzanine level up a narrow staircase which felt precarious when getting up to use the bathroom during the night. The bed is jammed up against the wall which is awkward when 2 people are using it. And the ceiling height is restricted. We found the bed uncomfortable so much so that we left one day early. We thought the bathroom was a bit grotty.

The location was ideal for what we needed and handy for walks. We liked the level of equipment provided. Although the good-sized bathroom was downstairs, the stairs were not difficult to negotiate. There was plenty of crockery, but it only had two wine glasses.

The cutlery was of very poor quality, but there was just about 4 of everything. The frying pan hadn’t been properly cleaned before we arrived.

Great location - thanks a short walk from the centre of Clifton. Comfy bed, lovely sower and relaxing living space. Parking if needed too

No dishwasher. Hand towel was wet and smelly so washed it again. Crumbs on the coffe and main table. No washing up liquid.

The location was great. On a lovely quiet road close to Clifton with all it's cafes and shops. I liked having a free parking space. The bed was comfortable and the property was clean.

The lighting in the kitchen needs addressing.
