Oldcotes Cottages

The peaceful location.

The unit was very warm with comfortable beds and living room furniture, old but serviceable. Nice and clean throughout. The pub across the road and corner cafe are very useful for a good value evening meal and a hearty breakfast.

The decor in the unit could benefit from an update and the bathroom refurbished, especially the shower cubicle that is badly cracked along the floor. In the kitchen, the old sponge and J cloth should have been replaced. A welcome tray would be a nice touch especially if like us you had a 3 hour drive. Luckily, we took our own milk, tea bags etc because there are no shops local to the cottage.

Location and great value for money. Host was on hand and very helpful

No control over the heating, it was cold and we had to go and request that the heating be put on and had no control over when it was turned off.

Clean - well decorated and well equipped.

No meals provided. A welcome teabag/milk sachet would have been nice.

Bedding had overpowering fabric conditioner smell. Difficult to sleep in sheets with unnecessary, added odour.
