AUMintaro is a great location to explore the Clare Valley. The accommodation was comfortable and as an historic stone cottage had a nice feel inside and throughout the gardens. The covered parking was a pleasant surprise.
It may sound a bit ironic given the historic nature of the building and its surrounds but the facilities could do with a bit of an update. The microwave was worn out (worn magnetron) and essentially useless. The kitchenette was functional but dated and a bit rough around the edges. The bed mattress was smaller than the frame and although it had a padded topper the mattress seemed worn at the sides. The bathroom was nice but a bit dated with a spa that was a challenge to get in and out of. We are fit and well but I imagine some would have difficulty. The shower is over the spa too. The access door (rear door) was sticky needed planing to fix as the timber was swollen. There was no Wifi which suited us, as we were trying to get away from things for a few days but the very poor Optus coverage was a surprise so close to Adelaide - not the operators fault but a bit painful when we did need to check in with family.

Very small kitchen. The bath was a hazard and needs a rubber suction mat to go in the bath. There was something in the ceiling above the room that had two beds in it. A mouse, rat or possum.

Not realising shower was over spa and had husband with rods in back and unable to climb up and then climb down into spa as well as two big lumps unsteady under your feet whilst showering for me Very dangerous had to go elsewhere to shower ages over 70 Also chipped crockery Cutlery chucked in tray and Difficult to access for us oldies
