No firewood even though it said there would be a basket

We did have some difficulty in locating the back entrance (perhaps a sign saying 'enter this way' so we attempted accessing the cottage via the front door but then tried the back door again. We did arrive at 12.30am (midnight on the 18/04)

Although instructions were provided where to locate the key box at the back, we initially located the key box at the front door. We could have accessed via the front door if the lock was attended to. We thought the front bushes could have been pruned so that it didn't cause some inconvenience particularly very late at night. We think the back door could have a curtain for a little more privacy

Very clean welcoming place. Spa was fantastic. Outside court yard badly needs a make over though, very messy and tree roots lifting the pavers. Overall though a nice relaxing weekend. Will be back!

Spacious rooms and excellent facilities

I liked the quiet location. It was close enough to clare that you could drive to the shop if you needed anything. It was close to historical sites and winery's.

There was not much i didn't like, except the fact that the Queen size bed had a double mattress on it.

Location

Scholar cottage - Generally - furnishings / fitout is tired, old and in need of maintenance / replacement Uncomfortably soft mattresses Shower spout was leaking on arrival . Tried both shower taps to turn off - no success No hot water on arrival. No showers for a day for any guests. Host resolved next day Very poor bathroom design - deep spa tub, no stopper to keep the water in, if spa tub was filled it may use the full storage hot water, did not turn on the spa tub motor. Shower is over the spa tub - tub does not have anti slip, has 2 foot size bumps making it unsafe when standing to shower. Living room window roller blind fell off when pulling down. Kitchen - no dish cloth / sponge to wash - host resolved Kitchen sink blocks after a little while Fireplace - needed a clean out - host resolved Ash bucket outside is full

Location and gardens

Cleanliness…..curtains need to be washed , needs a coat of paint, spend some time on maintenance ….rotting timber verandahs, blocked gutters, leaves everywhere in gutters Smells of burnt firewood Need to clean carpets and curtains to get rid of the smell Booked 2 nights and stayed for one only
