Quiet and peaceful with your own garden separate from the other cottages. We even had two little pigs visit us the one day. Very clean and everything available that is needed for a self-catering stay. All attractions and restaurants in very close proximity

Ian is the perfect host and this is an exceptional place with the vegetable garden where one can harvest your salad ingredience; friendly dogs and hogs running around - all located in a stunning area. This was our second visit and we will be back for more.

The cottage lacked a few basic facilities in the kitchen and we really missed comfortable chairs when sitting outside.

The location was fine but the roads were not so good.

Everything was okay

We stayed in the Orchard Cottage. The host- Ian was very hospitable and incredibly friendly. Bed was comfortable with an electric blanket plus extra blankets. Living area had a cute fireplace and firewood is sold by the host per crate - which is perfect for cold nights and mornings. Kitchen is well equipped with cutlery, crockery and the necessary glassware. Hot water is gas heated and stove is also gas - great during times of loadshedding. Amazing privacy - our cottage had it's own garden and braai area.

Hogsback was a surprise to us, we did not know what to expect, but were positively surprised. Jaya`s Place is very recommendable if you do not look for luxury in modern technology, but for peace and relaxation. The owner informed us about the roads, which road to take and which not. Communication was by sms, very easy. The place is equipped for load shedding (sufficient gas and solar facilities). The house (Rapunzel) is half a rondavel and half a square house, very comfortable and charming but don`t expect luxury, instead you will find peace and nature and friendly people in a place that has a lot of charm.

There was nothing negative, all was perfect. We have thoroughly enjoyed this place and the friendly hosts that supplied us with plums, lemons, self pickled porcini and forest mushrooms... All very nice!

Charming house set in a beautiful garden with rare screeching parrot offering songs in the morning and evenings.

I can’t complain, but if there’s one thing which may be worth upgrading it would be a bigger geyser.
