Stag Cottage

Stag cottage is snug, smallish but not enough to feel claustrophobic and very easy to keep clean and tidy Not only was there branded cereals in the breakfast pack but also a couple of fresh croissants , bread, little pots of tiptree jams, Yoghurts and fresh milk, fresh orange juice, tea,coffee, sugar (incuding coffee pods) a large bowl of fresh fruit and a lovely vase of fresh flowers Bedding lovely quality and very pretty . Everything co-ordinated and decoratively pleasing

The weather !!! The poor state of the road leading to Stag cottage which you are warned about but which does tests the car's springs

Excellent property in a very peaceful location but not too far from local amenities. Friendly owner who popped in to see us once we had settled in to check we had everything we needed. Very warm and cosy inside, especially with the log burner. The breakfast items were much appreciated and a lovely touch. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area. 10/10.

This is a true home from home. if you like to be in a cosy friendly location where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside there is no other place to be looking for. The comfort of the cottage coupled with the facilities and amenities make this an exceptional find. The warm welcome from Paula and her companions Lilly and Hector was wonderful. Bring your walking boots and enjoy the area. Stag Cottage made a work trip a relaxing one! Thank you and see you soon !

Wonderful host, beautiful location, clean and well equipped accommodation - you really couldn't ask for more...this host goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and to ensure you have the perfect stay.

Tasty items were waiting in the fridge and bread and cereal also. the location was quiet but not isolated, and was close to main arterials.

There were no negatives for me with my stay at this very nice home away from home.

Peaceful and beautiful countryside location. Very comfortable, attractive and cosy accommodation and lovely, unexpected touches in terms of breakfast items, toiletries, etc. Very helpful and friendly hosts. We would definitely return if coming to Derbyshire again.

The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, clean and nicely decorated. The location is in the heart of the farm and it was lovely to hear the animals in the morning. The grounds are beautiful and it was an idyllic place to stay

There was nothing I didn’t like - It was warm but this was quickly sorted out and the heating turned down with no issue, thank you!

The location was wonderful and Paula was an excellent host and made us feel very welcome. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The rooms were very comfortable and homely. I

I think the breakfast items we used could have been replenished given that we were there for 3 nights. The slabs leading up to the door are loose and really need to be made more secure.
