Bushpigs Haven

The location is fantastic! The unit has everything you need to enjoy a stay in St Lucia and the access to the swimming pool is as is if you have the pool all to yourself.

There is nothing not to like about staying here. The unit is always well kept and clean.

Odette was lovely. Eating area and kitchen was great. Was what we needed and meet expectations.

Water pressure was light, not too bad. Would have been good to keep toilet rolls in house, staff come in every morning but we ran out on the last morning. Maybe some tea, coffee and sugar sachets being kept in the cupboard would be nice 😊

The outdoor verandah was great, until 8PM when security guard essentially told us we were not allowed to talk as it made a noise. So no chatting around the braai outdoors. Swimming pool is huge and well maintained. Plenty sleeping space for families.

Contact on whatsapp had a rather rude undertone to messages - no friendly attitude. Old outdated furniture... The outdoor kitchen is a disaster. We were told that the monkeys could not open the cupboard doors (most of which had broken latches). Well, the monkeys repeatedly got every last item we had, opening all doors, urinated on all surfaces and destroyed everything in the kitchen - on multiple occasions. This outdoor kitchen is not a good idea and will eventually make someone sick. We spent a small fortune on cleaning supplies and I still do not know if it was hygenic to eat from. A concertina door of some sorts would have prevented this. Beds were very uncomfortable, bedding poor quality. Not all bedrooms had aircons, which is a necessity for a good nights sleep on vacation. This property cost more than many others offered, yet sadly provided a rather unpleasant cleaning experience with lack of sleep. Having UK visitors here was embarassing.

Everything was great i wouldn't change anything

The town of St Lucia is a gem. The scenery and surroundings are magnificent, add to this Bushpigs Haven. Set on beautiful sub-tropical gardens, 3 bedrooms with great beds, a patio that extends and overlooks the biggest swimming pool I've ever seen at any guest house, anywhere in South Africa with a very well equipped outdoor but covered kitchen area with everything you can think of and the privacy offered and the location is unmatched. From here you can walk to anywhere in St Lucia safely.

Nothing not to like and that which may be a problem to some is just the way it is in St Lucia - monkeys raiding your breakfast by day and hippos by night that wonder around. That's just something to be aware of, not to complain about!

We enjoyed the large verendah when no one from the lodge was in the pool. The location is good, but I think every place in st lucia is walking distance. Very nice pool as well

Not a nice setup with the outside kitchen and the monkeys. For a short stay probably doable. 1 or 2 nights. I did not like going outside early for your morning coffee, the monkeys is hectic if you leave anything outside. The place needs a deep clean and some upgrades. Cockroaches was a bit bad. Would have appreciated wifi.

The location is perfect. Could walk to restaurants, shops etc. Lots of space in the unit too with large covered outside veranda and open kitchen, overlooking a huge, clean swimming pool. Magnificent view of sunsets.

Loadshedding is a bit of a drag but beyond anyone's control.
