Casa Marene Ortigia

First impressions were great and Alessandro was very welcoming. The apartment was spacious and had an old rustic Sicilian charm. The complimentary water, juices and croissants were a lovely touch. Great location to explore the area and the bed was very comfortable with lovely bedding. The main problem was the huge windows and shutters did not lock as the lock at the top was broken, so the place was not secure. We had to push the table up against the shutters with our cases on top to prevent anyone from opening the window and climbing in. Also the oven door handle is broken so warming the croissants was quite hard work. Personally, I would have liked a full length mirror and a shelf in the shower to put your shampoo etc. All quick fixes to make the place worth the price.

The apartment is stunning, the location is by the sea so you enjoy some great views. The interior is really amazing as it gives you the vibe of Sicily, which is something I personally loved. Close to everything you want to see in Ortigia but still quiet. The host was very responsive and has a book with recommendations for restaurants and activities. The kitchen has some croissants, bruschetta, coffee, tea, water, juice - very nice for the stay. The apartment was clean and the building was stunning in general! Highly recommend it fr your stay in Ortigia!

Everything was great!

Very nice place with perfect locarion at the sea in Ortigia. Host was very supportive, assist us with transfers, although we had almost 2 hours delay. Good recommendations around, very clean and cosy place, perfect for 2+1 guests.

Very modern, wonderfully designed apartment. Perfectly located at the heart of Ortigia. The staff was very kind and accommodating. All facilities are available, such as coffee, olive oil, pepper and salt, hairdryer, iron, etc.

As a tiny remark, the apartment could be a bit cleaner, especially the bathroom. Overall, it was quite humid (but airco is available and thus necessary).
