The location is awesome. Main floor is pleasant just like the pictures. The owner Andrea parents own the restaurant below. Upon arrival we were given a 15% discount to the restaurant. Food was good. Very kind.

All went down hill from the discount. Andrea is the contact and I believe owner. Non responsive and zero communication before arrival. Even after booking typically you get some type of note after you book. Upon arrival we noticed the washing machine was broken. One of the reasons we booked as we were a family of 5 into our second week of traveling Italy laundry was needed. From there it only got worse. The bathroom was a disaster. Orginally just the look of the tub and shower. Smelt ok to start due to cleaners before our arrival I'm sure. Beds are uncomfortable pillows are paper thin. Soon we discovered a leaking toilet and the bathroom the next morning was incredibly smelly. After all this I thought how can this place have a 8+ rating. I started going through all the previous reviews only to discover the same complaints over and over some from OVER A YEAR OLD. Leaking toilet bathroom smells and broken washing machine. Zero response from owner. I even sent him a picture of the leaking toilet watef dripping out and told him of the smell. Zero response. The smell is probably from mildew and mold of years of leaking in the the floor grouting of the tiles and probably below. The tub was disgusting and useless as a shower. Obviously this has been going on for years with no attempt to fix it. People who give it a 10 must not need the washing machine and just an overnight stay. Hard to to notice the stink in the bathroom. Especially on day 2. Lots of sweet smells when you first come in from the cleaners to cover it up. This guy should be forced to fix his stuff before being to take bookings. Please read other reviews. Brutal.

Location - perfect location, a few steps away from Corso Umberto, which is the main street in Taormina.

Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. Here are some of the key issues we encountered: 1. Communication: There was no prior communication before check-in, requiring us to reach out to the host ourselves. This made for a rather disjointed welcome. 2. Check-In Process: The lockbox provided did not work with the given code. Fortunately, a staff member from the restaurant downstairs (presumably a family member of the host) saw us struggling and helped unlock it. 3. Lack of Privacy: The restaurant downstairs is owned by the host’s father, and we felt like we were being watched whenever we entered or exited the property. At one point, we were asked to turn off the outside door light, which we had left on for safety as we weren’t sure what time we would return. 4. Ignored when Raising Issues: The hosts requested copies of our passports via WhatsApp a day into our stay, which is common practice for registration in Italy. However, after sending the copy along with reports of a few non-working items in the property, we received no response and were ignored. 5. Facilities: - The washing machine was non-functional and appeared to have been so for many years, according to other reviews. - The bathroom was very outdated, with a shower that leaked everywhere. It was so uncomfortable that I had to use my sister’s shower in a nearby rental. - The air conditioning was very weak in all rooms. - There was a coffee machine but no coffee pods or instructions on which pods to purchase. Again, messages to the host went unanswered. - The bed was hard and uncomfortable. 6. Configuration: It was very difficult to carry luggage upstairs, so we had to leave it downstairs which made the small space very messy Overall, our stay was quite unpleasant. We spent most of our time at my sister’s rental a few doors down, which was much more comfortable. Her host provided exceptional service, handling all our transfers and more, for only $400 AUD more than Casa Elodie.

Location was great. Walking distance to everything. The owners parents own the restaurant downstairs, and they were always so sweet.

Bathroom smelt for some reason.

The location

The bathroom is outdated. The beds are very uncomfortable. The air conditioning is not efficient. The washing machine hasn’t worked for a year so the listing should be updated to remove it as a feature.

The location was very good for visiting Taormina and the surrounding area. Overall, the apartment is pleasant. Nicely decorated rooms. Comfortable apartment for 4 people.

There is a coffee machine in the kitchen, but no coffee you can use. There is a washing machine, but it is broken. There is no knife in the kitchen to cut bread. The pans are old, damaged and literally bent. The bathtub and shower head need to be replaced.

Great location right in the center

One toilet is not enough for 5 guests

It takes some time an effort to get there from the railway station via regular public bus - that is cheap , however the central bus stop is about about 800 m below the main street in Taormina old town. Larger luggage is a challenge, travel light, one cannot get to the doorway by taxi. The apartment is just next above nice restaurant - Shelter, that provides you 15% discount. The restaurant staff is really nice and helping.. I don't know their connection with the host, but they provided me the key. City life is just all around, getting to the beach takes some effort climbing the stairs or use of funicular (6eur one way / 10 eur round ticket). City street musicians are great.

we couldn't do laundry , the machine seems long term out of order. water pressure and shower is not that good i expected.

The location was great, right in the middle of historical center

The heating was not so efficient in all rooms (we had some cold evenings)

We loved our stay in Casa Elodie, very central, very clean, well equipped and when you stepped our of the door you are in the middle of Taormina atmosphere. November was a great month to visit with 3 kids, not too many people but still sunny and warm. Thank you, Andrea :)
