Cosy near centre Edinburgh apartment

Instructions to the accommodation were thorough however could use an update. Location in Edinburgh is good, slightly out of the way and walkable. Connections using bus is nearby. The apartment is found in an early twentieth century masonry stone building on the second floor. Large sturdy staircase when entering the building leads you to the apartment. Arriving, you find a lovely and clean mid-twentieth century style four room apartment with one bedroom. The kitchen has been updated with microwave, family size refrigerator, cooking facilities and kitchen sink. The bathroom is small with large tub. Living room is good size with modern TV, wifi and seating. Bedroom has good size double bed and wardrobes. The windows throughout are wonderful, opening and letting in fresh air. At night the area fell quiet.

Not the easiest place to find in the dark! In daylight no problem. The bed has an old spring mattress. The shower in the tub needs repair -- awkward to handle. Walls lacked insulation so one could hear others in the building.

A perfect stay quite close to the inner city. Fully equipped with a a kitchen, living room and a cat bible the apartment provided more than I needed. The instructions and support by the friendly and helpful owner had been superb.

Good wifi

The shampoo and hand wash is very old and dirty. Some window can not be closed properly. The washing machine is also dirty and has mould inside.

The size & location of the apartment with good, kitchen was well equipped. Host was very quick to respond when needed. We were comfortable and the heater (in the fireplace) kept the place toasty.

Could have been cleaner .. bathroom in particular, kitchen pans were greasy. It's a little tired and could do with some minor tidy and updating. (e.g. towels were very old, dish cloth was dirty and couldn't find another one), pull out couch was comfy but the bedding with very tired and worn out, and hot water for shower was a bit of a hit and miss for 3 people.

The apartment was a perfect little hideaway for anyone wanting to unwind in a quiet peaceful environment or get ready to explore what Edinburgh has to offer. The little touches in each room made it personal and cosy to be in. Mario was a great host!

Location is slightly out of Edinburgh but in all honestly jumping on the number 1 bus or paying £7/£8 in an Uber from the centre of the city makes it easily accessible. It’s just a bit of pain with luggage getting to and from. The views walking into the city around Carlton Hill are to die for.

Location was great, allowed us to discover lot of cafes in the area versus only opting for the pricier and busier options in the city centre. Lots of supermarkets in the area as well. And fairly quiet overall despite thin walls and stadium proximity. Quick communication + easy check in.

The fact that we had to make the bed sofa ourselves even though we had indicated that we would use it. That seems like a small thing to do for a host to prep. We were given directions for linens etc., but there was also no certainty whether these were fresh linens or not.

Clean apartment, equipped kitchen with pots, pans, glasses, mugs. Dolce gusto Pod coffee machine available for guests. Was happy to find cooking oil in the cupboard which allowed me to cook dinner and breakfast in the morning. Was impressed to find pyrex oven dishes to cook in the oven.

The place will take you through english countryside

I wish they had their own free parking

It was so beautiful and close to everything, and the interior design in the house was gorgeous.
