The Quartermile Meadows View Residence

Everything was great. Tony met us at the property. Facilities were excellent and a lovely quiet location. Plenty of room including washing machine, full kitchen and separate bedroom. Only a short 10 minute walk into the Old Town. General store and 2 coffee shops only 75 metres away. Extensive park grounds in the meadows.

The shower was a little tricky with limited pressure however the apartment ha it’s own instantaneous hot water system.

This was a lovely apartment in an appealing and convenient location for us - we would rate this as a top location in Edinburgh within the Meadows and an enjoyable atmosphere. There were some issues, however Tony and the owner were very responsive. This is one of the most important aspects for us wherever we stay. It was generously and thoughtfully equipped. We felt lucky to be there.

The apartment was a bit dusty and the vacuum cleaner seemed to spread the dust. There was no dustpan and brush. The shower head seemed stuck pointing towards the wall. The locking nut was so tight I wasn't game to try to loosen it. The apartment was a little tired with some grout discolouration, a hand me down TV system and a bedroom blind in need of replacement. The mechanism for paying the damage deposit although flagged somewhere in the conditions, was confusing and came from a new entity. It was fine but it looked like a scam which it wasn't. Booking.com didn't respond to our queries at all but Reserve Apartments, to their credit, did.

Perfect location for the university and the meadows park. It was chosen for my student daughter to study and was perfect as peaceful with no noise disturbance and close proximity to university. Apartment contact, Tony, was pleasant and extremely helpful.

Location excellent, and general style and feel of the apartment and building. Quiet! The bath/shower arrangement is poor, with noisy and weak shower. Shame it‘s a small bed - would have preferred smaller bedside tables and larger bed. The oven had not been cleaned. Need to fix the number outside door (just gives a bad first impression!)

We've been there twice now, and I'm hoping we'll go back - everything works, the size of the place is great, the views over the Meadows are a joy. It's also very, very quiet (unless there's some mad wind blowing, but hey, that's Edinburgh!).

If you have mobility problems, the one thing that can be tricky is getting in the bathtub without some acrobatics, due to its high and very large border.

Very well equipped. We forgot a few things and Tony had all extra supplies on hand. He was very easy to contact and great to communicate with throughout. Would stay again. Thanks Tony.

Pressure on shower wasn’t great Shower step was high. Not a problem for us but maybe for older people.

Location is excellent

The owner tried to arrange a fire inspection in the middle of our stay while we were using the property. They required a 200 pound damage levy but asked for is through a weird website, they finally gave me a method to pay this without having to upload credit card details on line! The access to the key seemed very inflexible, having to meet with the manager, but strangely when we were delayed a lock box magically appeared. They charge you an extra fee if you arrive late to pick the key up, but then there is a lock box? How does that work?

The residence was lovely, very clean and welcoming. The kitchen was well appointed if you needed or wanted to cook. We were met at the property and all things explained to us including nearest supermarket and coffee shop. The property was close enough to everything to walk but away from the noise of the inner city. There was a mini library and some useful maps of Edinburgh which was handy.

The bed, although very comfortable was a small double.

Lovely little apartment with everything you need for self catering, beautiful area of Edinburgh and walking distance to all the main attractions. It was very handy having a small supermarket just a 2 minute walk away. Great base to explore the old city of Edinburgh.

Apartment is in need of a refresh, coat of paint and updated furniture and appliances, As someone has already mention in a previous review, the bath tub ledge is way too high to step over and access the shower. It is not suitable for those with mobility issues. Electrical issue with the bathroom lights, they would quite randomly turn off, was reported to Tony.
