The Polwarth Apartment

Well presented apartment, evident that recently refurbished and well equipped. Nice location with easy parking (we visited over the weekend) and c25 minute walk to the heart of the city.

Nothing - property is on a road but not busy and no noticeable traffic noise at night.

The apartment was clean and well located next to a store where you could buy groceries and about a 30 min walk to the Old Town. It is well appointed and comfortable with lots of light and quite a bit above the street, so fairly quiet as well. Gill was communicative and helpful for the most part, though she was out of town while we were staying and we did have a question or two that we never got answers for. But we'd stay here again. Salt and pepper were provided, as well as a small bottle of milk in the fridge (nice touch).

The stove didn't work, which is a real issue when you select an apartment for your stay, as you expect to be able to cook while you're there. Also, the second "bedroom" is essentially a large, windowless closet, so be prepared to bring a fan or you will be too warm. Finally, Gill showed up promptly at 830am the morning we were scheduled to leave, having apparently misunderstood our intentions (not sure how). In any case, she was apologetic, but we still felt a bit pressured to leave asap. We were out by 9:45am.
