The Polwarth Apartment

Kitchen well equipped, tv worked. Had everything we needed.

The small bedroom had no window or ventilation. The main bedroom had a double bed- and as my husband is 6foot 5 it was just too small for us. Signs saying not to open windows - it was hot and stuffy as we stayed in summer. No ventilation at all. The flat is on the second floor and the common areas are dark and unwelcoming.

Sofa bed broken so the alternative was a blow up bed, which wasn't particularly comfortable

We had a lovely few days here at the Polwarth Apartment. Gill was very kind and communicative and ensured we knew everything we needed to for our stay. The apartment was spotless and it was obvious that a lot of care had gone in to making our stay comfortable. The area/ building was also nice and quiet, and we didn’t have to go far for shops and lovey places to eat out, bus stops right outside also. Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a nice, quiet apartment that has everything you need to cook/ relax/ explore the city. Will hopefully be back soon.

The apartment is clean with good location

The apartment doesn't fit to a family of 5 people. The sofa bed in the living room were apparently broken by the last guest (isn't?) and the host provided inflatable mattress which was bad solution and uncomfortable. We asked to cancel the 2nd night but the host didn't agree to return our money back. We also asked to provide more linens to cover blankets for each person, but the host tried to explain why duvet blankets is enough for us. The day after she sent more uncovered blankets.. The double bed is uncomfortable as well.

Location was excellent. Easy access to public transport and lots to see in walking distance. Union Canal walk is nearby. Convenience store located just below was very useful. Apartment was clean and beautifully decorated. Instructions were clear.

Apartment was a bit cold, although there are extra heaters. Sofa bed was broken which made it difficult and uncomfortable to use. I understand this is going to be replaced with an alternative option. The apartment is on the second floor with no lift access so if you're traveling with luggage and children, it's something to be mindful of. The street parking is free only during weekends and after certain hours and it can be tricky to find a place to park, so this has to be planned as well. The bathroom door is slightly transparent which maybe an issue for some. Having a system where you can access the keys yourself like in a lockbox / safe box can make check-in and check out more flexible.
