JOIVY Charming Flat near St Giles

The location is excellent because of its vicinity to the the Royal Mile. However, the district is very noisy at night, with passersby speaking / screaming loudly (even fighting) til the early morning. This happened on every night we were there.

The location is fantastic right in the middle of where you want to be.

The place could do with being touched up, who ever does the maintenance quite clearly doesn't know what they're doing, plaster is cracked everywhere, damage to the walls etc. The bed closest to the front room smelled like a dog had slept in it and they just put new sheets on top.

The noise outside, lack of utensils in kitchen, lack of instructions on WiFi, tv etc, communal hallway dark and uninviting, long walk from key collection to property.

Great location, very central, and mostly well equipped.

Some problems: Broken and very uncomfortable sofa bed. Wasn’t repaired during our stay, despite assurances that it would be. When we arrived, there was only one set of keys and no lock box, despite prior assurances to the contrary. We were a party of 5, with different schedules. Thanks to one very helpful member of staff at Altido (Diana), we received 2 more sets of keys on our second day. Although the kitchen was generally well equipped, there were no teaspoons, and none were provided during our stay, despite requests. (It was suggested we ‘look in the dishwasher’, although there wasn’t a dishwasher).

Clean. Great location.

Noisy in the night from the street. Frosted glass door to the bathroom is not ideal!
