Centrally Located Cozy Studio Apartment in SD

I enjoyed the proximity to beautiful surroundings and downtown without being too noisy. There's also free street parking around the building. The building felt safe and the accomodations were extremely comfortable and peaceful! I hardly heard the noise of planes although earplugs were provided. There's a small kitchenette available and the studio had a comfortable sofa as well. I really enjoyed my stay and it exceeded the value!

We checked out after finding the state of the property.

Homeless living in tents right outside property. Listing shows free parking, but they actually charge per night and don't guarantee it. Low flying planes go overhead every few minutes. Beds are very uncomfortable. Shares the block with rundown abandoned stores. We encountered mentally ill people screaming at us and people smoking meth on the same block as the property.

Great location, clean and modern facilities, contactless and understandable check-in instructions.

Very clairaudient, could hear everything that’s going on in other rooms which did kill a few hours of sleep for us.

My stay was suitable enough for a work trip. Once in the room, the bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and clean enough. It was nice to have a mini fridge, microwave and toaster. I was able to bring my own food. It would have been nice to have paper towels and dish soup and a sponge to wash the dishes that they provided. They did provide a water bottle and ear plugs though. There was some noise outside from people on the street and airplanes. It wasn't enough that I needed the ear plugs though. The wifi was ok for standard use. It struggled a bit when I tried to upload large work files. It was nice to have Roku streaming available to watch movies at night.

The location was not as nice as I thought it would be. I did not feel comfortable leaving my car on the street, so I paid for parking in their private garage. I had to circle around a bit when I first arrived. I hate all of the one-way streets downtown. I also did not feel comfortable enough to leave on foot. You have to remember 3 lock codes to get to your room: 1 to get in from the street, 1 to your stairwell/building, and then to your actual room. The building was old and could use a refresh. The walls had a lot of scuff marks everywhere. One of the steps was starting to break. The room was clean enough, but clearly old.

The apartment was very well located, within walking distance of Little Italy and Balboa park. The staff was very friendly, and the room had everything (fridge, microwave, cutlery and plates). Parking was possible underneath the apartment building for some extra $, as you couldn't park outside in the street (only for 2 hrs during the day, it is free after 6 pm and on Sunday).
