Centrally Located Cozy Studio Apartment in SD

Loved the location and the cleanliness of the place! They provide toothbrushes and coffee.

I thought the property was great! Note, there is no daily cleaning as this property functions more like an air bnb than hotel.

The building is on a very good location. Balboa park is just right across the street. You can see the airplanes arriving to the airport, but the windows are quite sound proof. The bed was super comfortable and bedding was provided in sufficient amounts. There is a mattress under the bed and the couch could be pulled out into a bed, it was great! There was plenty of storage for our group of 4. Bathroom is super nice and although there isn’t a real kitchen the space available is great for serving some bread and breakfast related food. There is a fridge and a microwave and utensils and dishes are provided. We were able to do laundry and walk around the area with a CVS right around the corner. We were able to park right on the street and save some €€€ there. We were able to walk to the San Diego convention center for about 30 minutes, it was very nice walking into downtown.

I had not got any message about key codes before arrival - probably a mistake by Booking.com - but nevertheless a very frustrating experience - also becaus it is very difficult to contact Booking.com without a lot of reservation numbers and pin codes that you do not have readily available for usual check-ins. It ended up costing a very expensive phone call.

For, the man in charge was exceptionally dense when I arrived, he said things like I own this building you cannot demand me things, this just an Airbnb you pay what you get. I was like what’s wrong with this guy. I asked if I could stay waiting for checkin at the office and he said very aggressively no and then I had to wait at the cold outside Also lot of bums and quite loudly bc it’s close to airport

I liked being near Balboa Park but was not near anywhere to buy good groceries which was one reason I rented the place. I managed, and it is in a generally safe area so was good for me

The bed was mushy and You had to run the hot water a really long time before it got hot. I hated wasting that much water. They should put in an instant hot water system.

Location is good.

- Extreme noise. It’s as if the building is made of paper. We actually left one day earlier because we could not handle the noise. - First night at 2am some guest was stuck outside and was just banging the door for half an hour. We were genuinely scared. We tried to contact the property but no response. Ended up calling the police. - The bed is tiny (teenager size) and you can literally make it wobble by pushing it with a pinky.
