2x King Bedrooms, private living room & bathroom

Comfortable beds and beautiful back garden. Jane was very welcoming.

The WiFi in the property isn't the best due to thick walls. I found leaving my phone near the router worked fine.

Unfortunately this stay did not go to plan! we booked 1 night back in February, and received a message couple days later asking if we would like to book an additional night stay.. which i ignored as we only required the 1 night. I received another email few days after asking again if we would like to book an additional night (no explanation why). which i ignored again as we only needed 1 night, as booked on booking.com. I heard nothing more again from the host, and our money for the stay was taken a couple of weeks before our trip. We had no reason to believe there was any issues with the reservation. We booked this accommodation as it was ideal for our two children, 2 & 3 year olds. We were half way into our travel from Newcastle to Stirling when the host called my mobile to confirm we were not attending, to my disbelief! The host explained it was a minimum of 2 night stay and she had someone else stopping in it now.. we had received no notice of this and our money had been taken. Booking.com allowed us to book 1 night stay, and Jane did not explain in any email this was the case, she simply asked if we wanted to book another night??? To call on the actual day of arrival to 'check that we were no longer coming' was absolutely ridiculous... we had two little ones in the car and had to start ringing round other hotels in the area to stay. We ending up staying in a travel lodge, all 4 of us in one room, and myself and wife got next to no sleep as little ones would not settle with us all being in same room. I suggest if this happens again, the host makes contact straight away and explains it is minimum of 2 night stay or makes it impossible to book one night on booking.com. Calling a matter of hours before arrival to 'check we are not coming' is just not on... Your emails to guests need to be a lot more accurate. This has put us off using booking.com again in the future

It worked well for what we wanted and were looking for.

No cooking facilities was something I had forgotten about and created us a few hiccups but Jane was very kind and helpful so it worked out. Not being able to get the shower to work
