The beautiful old farm style, beautiful wood furniture, lovely fireplace

Nothing serious, I forgot to take sugar, thought there would be coffee, tea and sugar like most places. Perhaps a little of each? Just because I would have liked to know if it was my place, the roof was leaking between the dining and living room.

We were pleasantly surprised. The pictures on here do not do this gem any justice. Absolutely beautiful and tranquil. A proper retreat.

We wish there was a microwave and complimentary tea/coffee etc.

We like the fact that is situated outside Dullstroom and the feeling of staying on a farm.

The property has loads of quirky personality. Coming from a bush break it was the perfect way to break the trip back to civilisation: quiet and comfortable, with enough hot water (thanks to gas) for 8 guests.

I'm grateful that I made contact with the owner beforehand as otherwise I would have struggled with entry procedure. Also, we never got the gas-powered fridge to function as needed.

As a couple we enjoyed the space.

A few small things need to be fixed. Such as the washing line. The fridge needs TLC. Other than that all was good and the generator was on standby.

Only found out about the generator requirement for hairdryers the week before arrival.

It was a very secluded area that had a beautiful view and it was quiet and peaceful. Everything for self catering was catered for which was very convenient.

The shower wasn't level and didn't have a bar to balance with. I realized this after a bad fall which left me bruised. The hot water from the shower doesn't have consistency because it can get very hot then it gets very cold although it's hot water that's supposed to be running. The water pressure for the bath is a bit too low and slow. The rooms upstairs have wooden floors that are not supported by a flat surface so you can hear the creeks or see someone walking above you. The solar power supply ran out in the middle of the night and the back up generator had no gas to boost it and the caretaker wasn't around to help us with any other form of back up so it was a really dark night. I also suggest that bedroom and bathroom doors should have keys to lock because although we were family, we were victims to theft whilst sleeping. The drive to the house is long and the gravel at some point was bad. The owner should make people aware of the cemetery on the property because it made us a little uncomfortable.
