Apartment close to Fort Saint Angelo

Location was great. Size of apartment was great

Bathroom was terrible. The washbasin did not drain, the toilet flush was faulty and the shower just dribbled. Very difficult to wash and shower, possibly contributing to both of us getting stomach upset. The bedding was dreadful. On the double bed the bottom sheet was nylon with “bobble” which were dirty looking and very itchy and uncomfortable. The top sheet and the bedding on the single bed was hardly any better. The towels were frayed and stained. The electric points in the twin bed room did not work. Not sure if the original information told me that the apartment was on the first floor and no lift. Probably would not have booked if I’d realised. We were however notified that the apartment had been refurbished between booking and arrival. Cannot see evidence of this with paint falling off the walls in places. Would appreciate a refund

Location was marvellous, so close to the ferry point and restaurants. We missed getting to the nearest supermarket because it was closed twice when we went there, our fault we didn’t notice half day closing. The peacefulness of the area in Vittorioso was beautiful in contrast to modern area of Valletta. Enjoyed wandering round old Valletta very much. Maltese people so friendly and mostly had time to give us directions etc. Glad we found the lift, cost 1€, to take us up to the main streets in Valletta after trudging up the many steps on our first visits 😂. Three cities is the best area to stay in and Vittorioso better if you prefer flatter terrain. Our accommodation had a big roof terrace with furniture so we enjoyed our cool evenings with a glass of Prosecco taking in the fantastic view over the Grand Harbour. We took the 3 Cities tour booked with Booking.com. Very good indeed especially Maria our guide. Enjoyed the boat trip included.

Outside old Valletta the roads were very congested. Takes ages to get anywhere. Take the Gozo Express it’s the way to travel. Unfortunately we had already travelled the length and breadth of Malta by bus. Never again ! Very humid, hot weather with no air conditioning. I recommend not to book tours at the kiosk in the bus station area. Buses with this company not air conditioned & bad condition of seating. Book with tours recommended by Booking.com. Pillows in the flat were very hard.

Fantastic location, Birgu is calm and yet has plenty of life. Good restaurants and bars, all within easy walking distance. The ferry across to Valletta made it easy to connect to buses and the rest of the island.

We were a bit disappointed to miss the regatta that started on the day of our departure, by then we felt quite attached to our city and would have enjoyed cheering them on!

The space and the facilities where ok.. Birgu was the perfect spot from where you can get to see Malta.. old and nice city i reccomend this appartment.
