Urban Retreat Basement Studio Only Two Blocks From Metro! OFF STREET PARKING!

Clean and tidy property very close to the metro, the surrounding feel safe too. The staff was very attentive and caring.

The couch is small and not very comfortable however they did have a quality air mattress.

Very functional, easy to get to the city by metro or bicycle.

The basement is pretty dark.

The service and the location, for anyone thinking to book this property, short answer: Don’t book it, unless you are fine with unsafe neighborhood, people intoxicated on the roads and creating chaos for everyone, and wiling to risk yourself just for this stay. Long story: I booked this via booking.com and when I reached at the nearest metro station, it was all looking good, until I came out the station on the streets, and saw people fighting(punching each other) in front of me. I felt weird but I moved ahead towards the property, it was hardly a 5 min walk from metro station to the property(thankfully) but the 5 min were the most horrifying moments of my life. I could see people standing at their doors and drinking/smoking, and staring at me and my family as we pass by. We were trying to hold our courage and kept moving ahead, all of a sudden a person came running towards us and broke a glass bottle right in front of us, and started laughing at our scared faces. We rushed to the property, and came inside. We took a breath of relief, but decided not to stay at this location as we were not at all feeling safe. I reached out to the property owner via booking.com for cancellation and refund due to this issue, but the owner not caring about the safety, said those does not count as a reason for cancellation and rejected my refund request.

Location to the Metro. Updated. Clean. Quiet. Price. Perfect for two people on a budget and like to experience DC, and Urban Retreat.

Great accommodations! Clean, close to the Metro, parking available, food options in walking distance. I'd definitely book this room in a flash if I go back to the DC area. Thank you for a great stay!!!

It's a great space to make you feel at home while away from your own. The location was very close to the metro line so getting around was so easy. The hosts were very quick at replying and very polite. The bed was very comfortable and the utilities were so useful! Being on a road trip it was very handy having the washer/dryer setup to use.

Having to leave ! I'd have happily stayed longer if I didn't need to continue my road trip!

Super convenient being so close to the metro. Everything was clean and the host had amenities like a space heater which was helpful because it was cold.

Futon was very uncomfortable to sleep on, definitely recommend using the host-provided air mattress!

It was a nice and clean place to stay, I like it has everything we needed and more.
