We are a family of four, so two separate bedrooms and comfy and clean beds were great. The apartment really has everything that you can think of, from the ready to use washer and drier (this was a life saver for us, as we were in the middle of a long road trip), to lots of kitchen stuff you sometimes do not get, like coffee, salt, pepper, sunflower oil, olive oil, which was great for making a decent breakfast for the whole family. The neighborhood was really nice and picturesque and we also felt safe. We left the car in the same street, with no issues. There are some very good grocery stores nearby, so you really have everything for a cozy stay. We stayed only one night but would definitely recommend this apartment for a longer stay, as it felt like home away from home. The owner was also very responsive and answered all our questions right away.

The fact that the entrance door is made of glass, so we felt like everyone could look in and see us, a bit spooky. However, it was not that bad as the door is actually hidden from passersby. Also, the fact that you could not open the window in the bigger bedroom.

For the DC area, it was great, i was worried about parking, and Carlton helped us right away. Very clean, loved the kitchenette with everything we needed. Restaurants, cool bars, convenience stores at walking distance. We drove and used a parking garage for $26 the whole day at a couple of blocks from museums.. TY 👌🏼

L'appartement était fonctionnel avec 2 chambres, très bien équipé, très agréable en ces journées très chaudes car situé en soubassement de l'immeuble. Le métro était à 10 minutes et le centre-ville à quelques stations. Nos hôtes ont été très réactifs à nos demandes

What we liked: We really enjoyed the location of the house - it’s in a great area, close to cafes, shops, and very easy to reach any part of Washington by taxi. The house itself is spacious and well-equipped for a family stay. It had everything we needed: a full set of kitchenware, a washing machine and dryer, and reliable hot water - which we truly appreciated. It was a very convenient place for a short-term family trip. What to keep in mind: The unit is located on the lowest level of the house (not a basement, but still down a flight of stairs). Because of that, there was some dampness near the entrance, which also led to the presence of gnats and mosquitoes inside from time to time, as well as a noticeable musty smell. It didn’t affect the entire stay but it’s something to be aware of.

What could be improved: Although the bed linen was of good quality, the sheets in both rooms were wrinkled and not ironed. In the second bedroom, the white sheet had a large yellow stain, even though it was clearly washed. That gave a slightly uncomfortable impression. Also, the air conditioner was quite noisy - and since it was very hot during our stay, we needed it often. Unfortunately, the windows in the bedrooms didn’t seem to open, so we couldn’t ventilate the rooms as an alternative.

It was a very cozy place with all the comforts of home. Great little galley kitchen with every utensil you need for cooking. Nice gas range microwave combination. Comfortable beds with nice linens. It was a short walk through a very nice area to the Columbia Heights Metro station.

Took me a bit to figure out the shower. Had never seen that type of pull down actuator.
