Monk Rooms

Great location in the heart of Chania, 5 min walk from everything and in a quiet street. Liked the self check-in option, great instructions to get there and to park. Host responded very quickly and gave an instruction booklet in the room with recommandations. Beautifully decorated and confortable. Excellent wifi.

Very small room, couldn’t open the entrance door fully because of the bed and had trouble getting dressed in the bathroom. Photos were a bit misleading, looked and lot bigger than in reality and in terms of the kitchen, we only had a kettle and a mini fridge. Thought there was a common area and a rooftop, but I guess it’s only for a specific room.

Great location, very nice cosy rooms, great comfortable sofa to relax, little lamp as I hate big lights, great roof terrace, kitchen & washer if needed, great shower loved the slippers nice touch.

That is was non smoking, as i was on first floor abit of a trek to rooftop for a smoke with our coffees.

The only thing this place has as a positive is the location… if you’re willing to not get any sleep on your trip or have a clean place to stay.

You cannot get sleep as there is constant noise up until 3am each night. The bathroom isn’t very clean and the shower is extremely tight. Steep stairs - you will need to carry your luggage up as there is no elevator. The mattresses are very poor quality. There is barely any room service. You will only have one towel or sheet change for a week long stay. Feedback was provided to the host who was pretty rude. We changed our stay for the remainder of the trip to Porto Veneziano which was spectacular and the pricing was fairly similar. Def recommend that as an option over Monk Rooms which is not worth the money unless they slash their prices to around a third of what they charge. The Google Reviews for this place are obviously all fake to boost their numbers.

easy communication

no reception and locker for luggage. very noisy at night and morning due to bars and people walking, hard to sleep well. old apparemment with some decorations but the need renovation. too expensive for the equipment and services
