The property is in a prime location but no hustle from the city can be heard... The stay actually exceeded our expectations... So much gratitude to Anup and Mehak, who served us delicious home cooked breakfast and meals.... They are really wonderful hosts .. We stayed in two bedroom apartment...The property is very well maintained. It had all the necessary amenities. Parking space for our car was provided...They even covered it. Suerly we do recommend it strongly to anyone who wishes to visit pondicherry.

The couple were helpful and friendly, offering advice about Ayurvedic doctors for a digestive disorder and helping out with transport from Chennai Airport and a SIM card. The (room I stayed in) accommodation is a typical Indian guesthouse with the bonus of a delicious, optional breakfast, which went beyond usual breakfasts into the culinary arts, which was clearly made with care and kindness.

After recently being in Thailand and Auroville, where western expectations are consistently met, I'd forgotten what a typical Indian guesthouse was like and so many things disappointed. However, rather than listing them here, I got a strong commitment from the culinary expert host, that she would set about making the adjustments to make the room more comfortable for western travellers. This commitment is enough to know that things will definitely improve. I don't like to comment on things out of a host's control but the mosquitoes just outside and neighbours' yard left a lot to be desired.

We had a wonderful 2-day stay at Mel Ville, Pondicherry. The property is charming and well-maintained, and the hospitality by Anup and Mehak truly stood out — warm, amicable, and incredibly accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully served. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a welcoming and comfortable stay in Pondicherry.

The space is modern and well kept. Loved the decor. Very clean. Anup was extremely helpful. He helped me arrange a tourist pass (I was coming in with a rented vehicle) and assisted me in every way possible.

Mel Ville was an absolute delight! From the moment we booked, everything was seamless—Anup and Mehak ensured smooth communication and even arranged a last-minute cab from Chennai airport. Their thoughtful hospitality, including a welcome breakfast and complimentary lunch, made our stay extra special. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach and White Town. Our room was exactly as shown in the pictures—bright, airy, and comfortable. We also loved unwinding on the common terrace with its refreshing breeze. What truly sets Mel Ville apart is the warmth of the hosts. Having stayed in homestays at other locations, we can confidently say Anup and Mehak are exceptional. Highly recommended for a wonderful stay in Pondicherry!

Great location, lift, a/c, hot showers, lots of natural light from windows. Lovely welcoming hosts who shared a meal with us in their home. One of the best places we stayed in India
