Eka's House

Very clean cozy place

The host is more than wonderful, kind and very understanding. In the heart of the city, close to everything, very comfortable. I highly recommend it.

- The price was cheap (for Tbilisi center, that is). - They were O.K. delaying a portion of the payment (a few GEL out of 510). - It's on the hill, so if you like cardio, it's O.K. - The bed was comfy enough.

- A local guy helped me to get to the place. There was no sign or anything. I doubt I could find it by myself. - Apartment is too humid, there is little to no sunshine. Since it's the first floor, all your windows go to the inner yard, where everyone's talking, walking, etc. One of two windows was in front of the bed, so you can't really open the curtains. - If you take a shower, forget about using a toilet w/o wetting your feet. It will take at least a day to dry with windows opened and air conditioning maxed out (heat/dry mode). - There is no sound proofing whatsoever. I heard the hosts snorting at night, they were behind the wall. I heard every step of a cat/small dog (or was it a rat?) from the apartment above me, - Giant black cockroaches, 7+ cm. in length! I've never seen anything like that before. - A day before my check-out the host turned of air conditioning electricity tumbler (it's outside of the apartment). I was woken up by some chatter about that. They didn't try to talk to me, just turned it off. It was the last day I stayed there, checked-out earlier. - There were other small downfalls, but I think you've got the picture by now.

Location, host, apartment

Clean and comfortable. Washer machine, full kitchen to cook. The host grandparents are very friendly and nice.

Eka's House is about a 10-minute walk from Liberty Square. There is also a large shopping center with a food court nearby. So you won't go hungry. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby, as well as restaurants. When you look at it from the outside, Eka's House doesn't look like much. But don't let that put you off, it's what's on the inside that counts. Everything has been renovated and works great. You even have a washing machine and a stove. I was a guest there for a week and was able to relax really well. The WiFi works, I never had any problems with the water. And there are a few cats buzzing around. You can spoil them a little too.
