Alex Apartment, Cozy Place in Heraklion Center

This apartment is in a safe area, very close to the city centre, restaurants, grocery store, and the harbour … all by walking. Facilities were well cleaned before arrival. “Treats” were supplied. All questions we asked were answered well. If we came back to this area we would definitely book this location again.

Street parking is available but … we rented a larger vehicle and I could not park ‘creatively’ on 2 nights. We parked at a local parking garage for €18 each of those nights.

This apartment is in a great location, is an excellent value, and has some of the kindest, most helpful hosts I’ve ever met! Although just a block and a half from the wonderful new bus station, you’re in an actual neighborhood where it’s much quieter. (I wasn’t bothered by the planes as others have mentioned. For me, it’s the mopeds! 🤣) I slept very well. The owners live on the same building, and are fast in answering messages. In my case, my ferry from Santorini to Heraklion was cancelled two days in a row, and I had to buy a last minute plane ticket. Alex and his brother were very kind about everything, and really helped me out by picking me up at the airport. I was so thankful I’d picked this apartment! The owner’s parents leave fresh fruit, snacks and water in the apt., and I too needed the first aid kit others have mentioned. I travel a LOT, and I’ve rarely been welcomed like this! The bed is comfortable, the shower is great, there’s a full size fridge, and you’ve got a very good washing machine. (You are also close to an excellent grocery store.) I definitely recommend this apartment, and would certainly stay again. Thank you for all your help and a great stay!

Great apartment and value, and very nice hosts, they picked us up from close to the airport. The apartment was just like in the pictures, very clean and comfortable, and they left also some fruit and snacks for us to use during the stay. We had everything we needed, good functioning kitchen, many towels, good washing machine and drying rack, etc. Good location at 5-8 mins walk from center of Heraklion and 3 mins from bus station to take you to the beach (we went to Amnissos beach, 15 mins by bus, highly recommended). Also a big supermarket right by the corner at 3-mins walk, just be aware it is closed on sundays. Good bakery and fried chicken place right by the supermarket.

Just a minor point of improvement would be to add some light-blocking shades to the entrance door as the morning light illuminates the whole living room (for the ones who sleep there).

Cozy apartment and very well equipped. We liked that it was 5 minutes away from the main bus station, allowing us to easily visit also beaches and places around Heraklion and 10 minutes away from the city center. The host welcomed us very warmly and kindly responded to all our questions.

The place was a little bit noisy because of the planes. The main gates to the building and to the inner yard were sometimes uncarefully shut.

Perfect location - close to bus station, supermarket and a nice bakery. Has buses to local attractions or beaches nearby. The apartment is new and cozy, it has everything we need. The owner is very nice and gives us good tips about the area. We even have a welcome basket &fruits which our kids adore (and the Netflix!)
