"The usual great welcome to Nikos' rooms on the beach at Kato Zakros"

We returned after 12 years and were not disappointed. Progress with the archeological site five minutes walm away is really impressive too.. There was a lovely welcome and the village was bathed in sunshine. From a practical point of view, we were shown straight to a large parking area adjoining the excellent taverna which Nikos runs. We had a superb roast dinner off the spit, great service, good choice of food and wine, and a continental breakfast, yogurt and honey, fresh juice et al overlooking the beach. The apartment is set back a few yards back from the beach and is comfortable and airy, perfectly placed for an early morning dip.

Everything was very acceptable, and it was lovely to see familiar faces in far flung places again.
