Casa Vitoriana

We were lucky enough to spend four nights in the garden cottage at Casa Vitoriana recently. Such a beautiful spot to relax & come home to after a busy day/long evening. The property has lots of old world charm as you would expect from a grand house built in Victorian times, so if you are the type who prefers all white & modern this isn’t the place for you. If however, you would relish the chance to spend time in an historical building & enjoy the charms of Maria’s wonderful garden this could be just what you’re looking for. I would recommend a local pizzeria if you’ve had your fill of traditional Portuguese food, Nonnas is very close by & a brilliant, fun, pit stop. The ice cream parlour in the next street over from Nonnas is also exceptional. Have fun.

Nothing. The property is old but incredibly charming. We loved it. It had everything you could possibly need for a short if not a longer stay.

Really difficult to find something… the table and chairs in the backyard were nice to have, so you could escape from the room.

The room we had was a „Suite“. The big window was directed to the street and a lot of unpleasant visitors were gathering in front of that window. As well the location is in a very difficult part of the City, walking to the Hotel especially when it was dark, was not nice. Due to that you always need to keep the shades closed and are foreced to stay in a very dark apartment. The mattresses were worn out, which you could already see by looking at them. Bedsheeds had holes. Bathroom without proper light. But that was maybe better so so you could not completely see the condition that it was in, which was very poorly as well.

Great patio, close to the city, cafes supermarkets; quiet and safe place.

Shower needs to be replaced, very small and pretty old kitchenette but convenient.

The facility is outdated

The location was perfect. On the map it seemed it would be too far to walk to my conference but it turned out to be about 7 minutes by foot.

Well, i had asked for a walk in shower because i cannot get into a tub. I fall. I also asked for no stairs and there were three large steps (for me) that I had to navigate from the entrance to the guest area. But the shower was in a tub. So it was like camping for me (I managed ok). I could have been clearer when i was searching for a property. So this isn’t perfect for a solo traveler with mobility issues BUT I really liked staying there. Quaint! The proprietor is used to welcoming guests, there’s a lovely garden, no mosquitoes! It was a very nice experience.
