the mattress wasn't the best

Maria's garden is quiet, secret oasis. She is very accommodating. Our mornings on the patio, enjoying the freshness was marvelous. We found the kitchen well-appointed. Everything we needed, or wanted to visit was easily walkable.

Very friendly and helpful host. Very nice garden and garden view from the window. Well equipped kitchen. House is located in the city center and is quiet and peaceful.

Amazing villa and lovely guest! Clean, elegant and classy. The garden outside the room is beautiful as the Room in itself. The owner is kind and helpful, she gave me good advices and was very outgoing. She gave me some insight to enjoy more my vacation. Only good vibes!

Great location, and the woman cleaning the rooms was very nice.

The room smelled of mold and was very damp. After reaching out to the owner with our concerns, we were dismissed and told they wanted people who stayed with them to have positive energy, so I guess they interpreted our concern about having a mold allergy as being negative. She also suggested that people with this type of "disease" shouldn't visit the Azores.

There were many lovely aspects to our visit. We stayed in the garden room. It’s lovely to sit outside on the terrace to enjoy the garden and the fresh Azorean air with a glass of wine and a book. The bed is comfortable and the shower good. The owner Margarida lives on site and is helpful if you have questions. The room is serviced every day except Sunday. Biscuits and drinks were left to welcome us. The property location is in a less glamorous part of town but it is only a 10 minute walk to the centre. Before you book, do remember that this is a garden room. You can expect to have to deal with a few creepy crawlies including the Madieran wall lizard. The photos on the website were clearly taken some time ago. Everything worked adequately enough but the equipment (fridge and cooker especially) is in need of updating The furnishings in the lounge are rather shabby and need a good clean.

Beautiful Victorian interior with huge mirrors. Paradise-like garden and backyard. Very calm at night (except the occasional airplane, which you hear everywhere in town). Very welcoming host. Perfect for chilling some days or even weeks. Go write a book there!

It is a bit difficult to find, no big sign outside.

It was lovely having our own little apartment with a very nice patio out the kitchen door. Daily a sweet lady came in and freshened the place up while we were out. Upon arriving Marie's daughter welcomed us and gave us a lot of information on places to go, a great car rental business to use ( they were great!). It was nice to be in walking distance to the town center and the water front. We would stay again at Casa Vitoriana if we return.
