Birchwood House

The location was great- very near the train station and about 5mins from the bus stop to Shrewsbury/Ludlow. Very spacious bedroom and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of fruit, jams, cereals and yogurts plus delicious fresh milk from a local farm. It was a welcome surprise to return in the evening and find a piece of cake or flapjack in the kitchen. The chocolates were a nice touch also. Suzanne was a very friendly and helpful host and kindly suggested walking one of the local walks her husband had prepared which I thoroughly enjoyed. A very pleasant stay.

I would have liked some cheese for on the bread at breakfast, as well as sweet options.

The ground floor of the hosts’ property was given over to guests. Therefore it was a self- contained unit with the hosts in the upper section of this modern house. Breakfast was self-serve and provided in the guest kitchen.

We would have liked the option of a cooked breakfast.

Birchwood House was the perfect location, beautiful room and huge bathroom. Easy check in/out. Very helpful with our bikes. The extensive continental breakfast was exactly what we wanted.

Location facilities breakfast. Sue and Mark lovely and catered for everything. Thanks for all the little indulgent surprises. The best we have stayed at. Wonderful home from home. Spotlessly clean and breakfast you could eat all day. What a place !

We are both in our late 70s and have stayed in many places. Birchwood outshines all of them. Lovely owners. Very clean and comfortable everywhere. Very modern. Fabulous***** . A credit to the owners. Highly recommended.

I had the whole of the downstairs of the house and was completely independent. The room was comfortable, warm and very clean. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The self service breakfast was OK for me but some people may not like it. See comments below.

The breakfast was self-service. That was OK for me but some people like a cooked breakfast and this was not available. The bread for toasting was bog standard pre-sliced bread. I prefer better quality bread.
