Very dog friendly. Very spacious cottage. Great pub with excellent food next door

Almost everything. Fantastic location, easy access to car park. Lovely cottage with beautiful and immaculate bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Love that they kept a bottle of milk and some yogurts for us. The garden is beautiful too. We loved it!

Nothing

The cottage was clean and very comfortable, in a quiet location. It had two bathrooms which was ideal for our family. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. It is next door to the pub which has a lovely outside seating area. The car park was secure at night. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was really great for 5 adults and 3 dogs loved the back garden area which was enclosed with a garden bench to sit and have a beer and nibbles in the sun. The main bedroom was huge with bifold doors onto a small balcony overlooking the garden, really lovely.

We went to the pub next door (who owns the cottage) for tea at 8pm to be told they were finishing serving and that we had to eat outside if we were to be accommodated! I was told they served food till 8.30 at check in so we really did feel pushed out and rushed especially as we had someone come to our table to remind us again that they were to stop cooking. When I queried this they said only desserts to be served up to 20.30 …. Not sure how I was supposed to know this. Burger was good, pasta also was ok steak looked lovely but chewy and the sauce was cold , beef roast dinner average. Really spoilt it for me. If I had known we would have gone earlier it wouldn’t have been a problem.

Beautiful cottage with a secure car park. Less than 10 mins from South Lakes Safari. The pictures don't do this property justice. It's huge with a beautiful fire place. Both bedrooms are very large and comfortable. There is also a large back garden. We would definitely stay here again.

Creaky floors

Quiet location even with the inn next door, very quaint and cosy cottage. Most beds were comfy. Kitchen very well equipped with coffee, tea and milk provided. Good wifi connection. Free parking on premises. Staff were lovely.

Kitchen lights were not working. There was also water dripping from the ceiling whenever the upstairs shower was in use. Owners were not on site to resolve these issues and we had to make do by moving the living room lamp in the kitchen and putting towels on the floor to soak up water. The double bed mattress also had a rather large depression in it.
