**Fabulous? No. Poor Yes I’m starting to question how ratings are determined on the booking.com website. This apartment is rated as fabulous, but it is nowhere near that category. Here is my honest review of my two-night stay. I’m not sure if anyone will read this, as it might be buried or not posted at all; however, I feel it's important to share my experience so that others can make informed decisions about their bookings. I also find myself questioning other people's standards. This place was listed as fabulous and clean, but neither was actually true. I will start with the positives. The kitchen was relatively new, neat, organised, and clean for the most part. It was very well stocked; there was everything you could need to cook meals. However, there was no freezer, which was a downside for me. The apartment had an integrated washer, dishwasher, and fridge, all seamlessly built into the cabinetry. Each appliance was modern, and the cooker worked well. As I mentioned, there were plenty of utensils, pots, pans, glasses, cups, and plates, which was definitely a positive aspect. Additionally, the location was excellent—very close to the lake and right in the centre of town. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end.

Now, for the negatives: First off, I struggled to open the door for about five minutes. When I finally got in, I attempted to let myself out again, but it took me around ten minutes to figure out the lock mechanism. It relied on a very old lock-and-key setup. You have to turn the lock to the open position, hold the handle down as far as possible, and yank the door open really hard. The bed was uncomfortable. The mattress was quite old, consisting of two mattresses placed together to create either a twin or a large king configuration. However, both mattresses were so worn that I could feel the springs at times. The bathroom had a peculiar step-up, and while I understand that this is likely an old council-type flat that has been converted into a holiday rental, the bathroom had not been updated. I had trouble with my knees, so I opted for a bath, which used up all the hot water for the day. They did install a separate system for the shower, which worked, but it took a full 24 hours to replenish the hot water for the kitchen and other taps. As I said, the shower was separate and continued to supply hot water. Now, I've saved the two most critical issues for last. Firstly, this place was not very clean. It wasn’t filthy, but it had only received what I would call a surface clean. Upon closer inspection, I found things to be a bit grimy and tacky. The walls had numerous scuff marks, and it's clear they haven't been painted in years. When I pulled down the kitchen blind, I noticed staining on the inside. Even the chain used to pull down the blind hadn’t been wiped down; I could feel the grime on my hands as I handled it. You could feel it in many of the things you touched, as most furniture in the apartment was old. I spent a day in the apartment resting my knee, walking around in bare feet. By the end of the day, I had to wash my feet because dirt had built up on them, substantially

Has a restaurant at the rear. Staff could be heard chatting when on their break. Never spoilt the experience though
