🌟 A Perfect Countryside Escape at Cosy Dog Lounge Shepherd’s Hut 🌟 My little dog and I had the most wonderful stay at the cosy Dog Launch Shepherd’s Hut, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and at ease. Sue, the host, was incredibly friendly and approachable - her warmth really set the tone for the entire stay. 🍪 Upon arrival, we were greeted with delicious homemade cookies and a pint of milk, which was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel instantly at home. The accommodation itself was superb: immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with every comfort we could wish for—and then some! 🌳 The hut had its own gated garden, perfect for my little woofer's safety, and I was able to relax with a book and enjoy a meal outdoors. There were lounge chairs, a table, and a seating area just for us, and beyond that, a large shared garden with pristine grass and more seating options. It was peaceful, private, and ideal for both humans and pups alike. 🚪 I’d also like to address the “scary gate” that a few reviewers mentioned. I was a bit anxious about it at first, but honestly, there’s plenty of space to turn in front of the gate, and it’s sensor-sensitive—it won’t close on you. It’s easy to manage and nothing to worry about! 📍 The location is fantastic, with so many beautiful spots within a short drive: Petworth village and its stunning house and gardens, Parham House, the South Downs National Park, Chichester Cathedral, Littlehampton beach, and countless charming country pubs. It’s a perfect base for exploring West Sussex. I’m truly grateful for the chance to stay here and explore the area. The only downside? We couldn’t stay longer! There’s so much to see and do, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you, Sue, for creating such a magical retreat—we loved every minute. 🐾💚

Beautiful place, peaceful , the annexe had all we needed for a short stay. It has been designed to create such a comfortable and peaceful space. Enabled us to relax at the start and end of the day.

We had a most enjoyable stay and cannot fault this place! The accommodation was lovely - very comfortable and excellent facilities. The enclosed paddock was perfect for our spaniel to have a run around off lead. Sue and Tim were so friendly and helpful. ( the home made cookies were delicious,!) We enjoyed some good local walks and had excellent meals in two local pubs. We may well return to explore more of the south downs in the future.

The entry driveway was a bit tight, but it was great to have electric gates with remote control.

We had 3 nights at this lovely Shepherds hut. It had everything we needed and more in a lovely location. Our little dog loved the secure garden and beyond. Sue and Tim were around if we needed anything and gave us some great information on places to visit. The cookies left for us were delicious and there was milk in the fridge. This place is a little gem and we will be returning. Gloria & Paul

Small and compact but with everything you needed for three night stay Useful info in folder for instructions etc Welcoming biscuits and milk on arrival. Lovely bath robes as well. Nice touches. Thank you Sue also recommended local pub for a meal. Shire and Horse - first class food and reasonably priced

Not really a dislike but worth noting ….. Didn’t seem to have live tv just streaming and photo of tv control in book is different from the one now used so a bit confusing If a small microwave could be added on a shelf that would be really great

The place is super cramped. You can't move around without moving stuff out of the way. The bed is very small. I am only 5foot and I fit, but was cramped. Anyone taller than me would have to lie diagonally to fit. Very very noisy - constant noise of traffic. The noisy fridge and clock didn't help either. Couldn't sleep at all. The place had such a bad feel to it, even my dog was restless and couldn't sleep. No pavements, so you can't walk anywhere. Even for short distances you would need to drive and it's awkward getting in and out.
