Shepherds hut Dolly wagon

Lovely location just 10 mins away from Keswick and 15 mins from Grasmere the hut was lovely and clean and I loved having the chickens free roaming nearby, toilet and shower were separate and whilst shared they were kept clean and presentable the shower was easy too work and whilst being £1 for 5 minutes I found this a sustainable time too have a quick shower and it was lovely and hot no temperature changes definitely worth the money the lady who owns the farm is lovely and easy too talk too if you have any questions or for a general chat overall I felt very comfortable there and felt very safe

The only thing that caused a problem was only having a mini fridge too store any food we brought ready meals but that was our fault as it was stated only a mini fridge, I would suggest having a sustainable amount of money too eat out before coming and only keeping a small pint of milk in fridge at a time as it doesn't stay very cold

Stunning views. Beautiful farm. Loads of character. The hut was comfortable and cosy, perfect for a couple. Host was very welcoming and helpful. Facilities were spot on. You have everything you need. Will deffo be staying again.

Location and countryside

The accommodation! It was very dirty, the linen and towels had a strong sour odour. The microwave, fridge, cutlery and untensil drawers were in a disgraceful condition. The mat and the floor were filthy. There was no mention of a pound coin being required for the shower of which we didn't have so missed out on having one. We booked for 2 nights but packed up and left after the first. I sent an email direct to the owner explaining the above and have not received a reply. Whatever accommodation and rates are being supplied everyone deserves to have a clean environment.

Looked the dolly wagon… and farm animals

We stayed in the Dolly wagon and it was tiny but perfect. So comfortable, warm and had everything we needed. We loved being on the working farm surrounded by animals, especially the lambs and the goat. Great location, 15 minutes by car from Grasmere and 10 from Keswick. Beautiful Mountain views and very quiet.

The only very slight downside is the walk to the toilets in the middle of the night. Only a couple of minutes walk and no issue for the hardened camper! Outside bench and table could do with replacing as the wood is quite rotten.

Location was excellent. Right next to a bus stop. 20 mins from Keswick. In the Dolly wagon there was a heater, hob and fridge. There was 2 toilets and a shower in site. Lady who ran the site was very knowledgeable about the local area.

Loved it all

The beauty of this accommodation is that it offers the intimacy of camping without the discomfort and cold of camping. It also offers fun and quirkiness……something different from the rest. Especially lovely in the sunshine. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this property.

Other guests have commented on this, but a colder fridge would have been better, and maybe a dust pan and brush? Other than that, it had pretty much everything that you need on holiday….including no WI-FI. The main Keswick - Ambleside road is a little intrusive, but not much that the owner can do about that!
