The Owl Hoot

Tranquil setting, lovely and peaceful, cosy with just enough comforts for a short break, Everything you need is supplied, and the log burner sure does warm the place up.The owner is a lovely chap who basically leaves you to your holiday but is on hand should you need him, A super bath on the veranda is a must do one evening if you get the chance (we left half a bottle of bubble bath behind the bath 😉) Enough space for our 2 collies to enjoy outside, Village not too far away with one decent typical pub grub and good beers in a cosy old pub with a super barmaid that does everything and is great with all the customers (Old Red Lion) The other pub (Marquis of Granby) is trying to be something it's not, no parking, too many T.V's blaring out, "village hall" feel to dining area midweek, too many staff hence prices high and food not that favourable, this venue seems out of place here in Ipstones.

Not a negative point but if you have dogs you do need to keep an eye on them as there is another letting property very close and it's easy for the dogs to wander around other buildings etc.

Could of done with some info on area, few more utensils ie fish slice for fried eggs....just me , really enjoyed everything to be honest

Beautiful setting, perfect for a little retreat. Loved getting up in the morning and spending time on the terrace. The outside bath is a wonderful touch, I can imagine using it on a lovely summers evening. Unfortunately for us the weather was a little mixed. There was a small electric radiator that we used. this kept the place cosy and warm. We didn't need to light the log burner.

The access to The Owl Hoot was a bit of a challenge, the choice was cobbled steps or a sloping grass bank. Beautiful and fine for the majority of people but a little challenging for my husband. I am sure that most people would just think how lovely but perhaps be aware that if you are a little unsteady on your feet you will need to take care.

It would have been nice to have some information about the local area, places to visit, dog walks, local places to eat, takeaways etc....

Fabulous stay in the owl hoot, host was very friendly and welcoming. The accomodation was perfect. Loved the bath. Great location close to village which was really friendly with 3 great pubs Ate at 2 of them and the meals were lovely and both good value for money. Shop is well stocked. Great walks with the fog nearby. Advise to research walking routes before you arrive.

Nothing enjoyed it. Accomodation clean, well stocked and had all we needed.

I think the hut was in a beautiful setting, nice and quiet and peaceful just what we wanted . The bed was comfortable and there was a heater and log fire if it became chilly .

There was a fusty smell when we walked in but we aired it. The bed was on a slight slope . Needed a metal brush to clean bbq as the Brillo pad disintegrated.

Very comfortable and clean space was a perfect base for our evenings after being out and about all day.

Beautiful, peaceful location. Felt very spacious for a shepherd's hut. The outside bath was great fun!
