Quinta Casa Do Quintal

The location is absolutely fantastic and Fernando is an amazing host. It received us with a bottle of Rosé and a tray of cherries. He stayed with us and showed a little of his property, gave some very good dinner suggestions and locations to go.

Quinta Casa do Quintal was the most beautiful property we stayed at during our 10 days in Portugal. The location is perfect: in the midst of vineyards and cherry orchards, 15 minutes to Lamego, and 30 minutes to Pinhao. The owner, Fernando, is an amazing host who welcomed us with a glass of rose made with grapes grown in his vineyards (which is also for sale), and also invited us to taste a 50-year old port. He also had lots of recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. We rented the farmhouse and one of the suites. The farmhouse is beautifully decorated and much larger than it appears in the photos. The suite, one of two located directly below the farmhouse, was spacious. The property is peaceful, with stunning views from sitting areas overlooking the Douro Valley. There are two friendly family dogs who welcomed us and enjoyed a nap at our feet while we had our morning coffee. We were lucky to be there during cherry season (late May) and there were bowls and plates (and crates) of cherries galore, that Fernando picked on the property. Our visit was too short. We definitely plan to return to spend more time at the Quinta and take advantage of more sites in the beautiful Douro Valley.

His farm is beautiful, peaceful, and full of character, but it was his sincerity and kindness that made my experience unforgettable. We had a lovely stay here, it was great for exploring the area, very comfortable and we enjoyed the free port, fruit and grapes!

We had a wonderful stay at Quinta Casa Do Quintal. The location by the vineyard was absolutely stunning, and our room was beautifully decorated. The views were breathtaking, and it was incredibly peaceful and quiet. While we didn’t interact much with the property owner, his teenage son was very helpful and communicated with us via WhatsApp. He even opened the gate for us when we arrived. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience

Perfect blend of old and new construction. Beautiful grounds with a view of the valley. Breakfast was outstanding with homemade jams, great coffee and local fresh fruits. Our host was very accommodating and very friendly and helpful offering good suggestions for day trips and restaurants.

Driveway was a little narrow for North American drivers.

Great location. Fernando was very nice welcome me with grapes and local wine and help to book a dinner reservation in a great restaurant. The room was new, big, clean and the all quinta is lovely.
